$0.00....True true. My partners niece gave me an 09 G3.....auto, red, 113k on it.....I love it....gutless, burns a little oil but its not been hit. I've got a little money in it now and its running strong. Love it.
Got mine for 2,300 with 83,000 miles on it.
Just bought this 2009 Aveo with 44,000 miles on it never driven in rain or snow, the lady who owned this even got oil changes by the calendar not miles, paid $3200 bucksAttachment 11212
I bought my 2011 Aveo LT almost 1 year ago to replace my old Ford. Paid $4K for it from a dealer. 110K Miles. So far a Good car, nothing too Major has gone wrong. Just the usual stuff.Attachment 11217
I bought my 2011 Aveo5 LT in 2013 with 5500 miles on it for $10,500. I now have 96k miles on it and no major problems with it. I just changed the timing belt.
$500 down the road from where I live. I tried to get a 2017 ecoboost fiesta but the dealer turned me down even though I make plenty to pay it also the dealer was going to have me look at a red 4cyl which I would have said no to. So I was in the market for a geo metro or ford festiva and then I came scross this car which is kind of a mix between Fiesta and Festiva and also Chevy branded which I like I rwalize most or all of it is gm-daewoo besides the cool US looking light shape. Needs a lot of work but it's not leaking oil or coolant. It was extremely dirtywith ugly worn out primer all over it. I've been fixing it up though. Hoping to get the timing belt done before it snaps.
my used 2011 aveo lt was 9,000 around 54,000 miles. I have had some problems with my little hatchback though. I got it because of the low mileage and it seemed to be the nicest one on the lot.
2008 aveo bought in April of 2016 had 93k on it paid 3 grand have replaced pads rotors calipers, camshaft position sensor cause of a P0340 not a parts changer tested ground signal and power all we’re good magnet was wearing out in the sensor, a valve cover gasket and now am currently replacing the clutch not to bad I would buy it again I will either keep it a couple years or trade it in it’s kinda small for a family of 4, or keep it as a second vehicle nice to have something good on gas
US$1995 out the door (car+tax and title) for my 5-speed 2008 Aveo with 87k miles. According to the dealer, he couldn't get the car to sell because of it being the special value package with no options. So far, only thing that looks like it needs replacing are the front tires. Back tires look brand new. I'm already seeing the mileage benefit over the Saturn it replaced (Despite both having the same fuel economy rating)
My 2008 Pontiac Wave (red) is almost a base model that came with a manual transmission. 118,000 km on the clock . . . bought it for $90 (Canadian) = about $75 US. A former pizza delivery car from Hinton, Alberta . . . definitely not with a clean interior. It had a small coolant leak from a broken plastic hose coupler; the owner claimed he couldn't get a new part.
Repaired it in 20 minutes (two trips to NAPA just down the road) during an early winter snowstorm. Drove the car 400 km east to Edmonton at 120 km/hour. So far - so good. So I think I'm going to like this car.
An extremely common vehicle present in every self-serve auto wrecker within the Edmonton area.
$90 for a driver! You win. :D
Welcome to the forum.
118k km is low for a 2008, but those are probably pretty hard city miles. I'll be interested to know how the car holds up over time. Please keep us updated!
Bought a 2006 Aveo hatchback with 137,000 miles on it. Was at the Mitsubishi used car lot for almost 4 months and never got sold. I asked why, and they said that it didn't have AC and the engine gasket cover needed replacement. So I bought it for 1,000$ plus 50 for the gasket replacement and I am now driving it for a week( 600miles) for a 130miles daily.
I changed the windshield wiper nozzle(13$) this weekend and I feel I am gonna be loving this car. I bought this as a daily to save gas.
Congrats! Do you know the timing belt service history?
Thread: What to watch out for when buying a used Aveo
Welcome to the forum!
Yes, timing belt was changed at 90k miles. This was an office service( one owner) vehicle so a little cleaner than most 1900$ beaters. No accidents either.
I just recently purchased my 2007 aveo 5 ls like 2 weeks ago for a grand total of $200. And all it needs to pass a safety is 2 tires a passenger door handle and a couple wiper blades, got it of the mother in law and i think its got just over 200,000 km on the clockAttachment 11259
..from your mother in law you say.....? brakes OK ? :D
$200 dollars runs good
$900
The lady wanted 1500 but my boyfriend is a body mechanic and knew what was wrong with it.
2010 Aveo5
56,000km {32,000 miles}
$4500
Bought it this past spring
2007 with 100k for $2000.
Bought as a commuter car but I love it now.
So far been pretty lucky with repairs. Only brakes, rotors, forward struts, valve cover gasket, some hoses and a door ajar switch.
Just bought 2008 Aveo5 5-speed with 103,000 miles in VG condition for $1,200.00. Very basic with no options. Perfect!
Looking forward to learning all about the dynamics of the car. We'll start with a complete maintenance (all filters, timing belt)
Congrats on the new wheels Luigi!
I just got an 06 for a grand the only issue is that radio illumination. Other than that it's nice and runs good 200k on the odometer. I actually trade a 1000 dollar truck to it.
About 3 or 4 years ago, I bought my 2010 Aveo Sedan from a dealership for $9,000 AUSD although they were selling it for $10,000. It is a manual and only had 50,000k on the clock. After a few modifications and a li'bit of care, I am very much in love with it!
Welcome!
Does it have a Barina badge?
I bought my 2004 Chevy aveo5 back in 2017 as soon as i got my licence. I paid only $1250 from a teenager who wanted a truck. Car only had 120,000kms and just got a new clutch, new brakes and new suspension.
Got my 2004 Aveo in 2015 and paid 200$ with 173 miles. had to replace head gasket and valve covers. after that runs like a dream still my daily driver to this day!
Last month I bought my 2004 hatchback with around 200,000km/120,000mi, newish tires and the original timing belt (I changed that fast) for $1250 US. Then turned around and found 4 almost-new snow tires on BMW steelies for $100 on craigslist :)
I paid $0 (that's not a typo) for my 2005 Aveo with about 85,000 miles. It was given to me by a friend because he thought it had serious problems and he didn't want to spend the money on it. I spent a couple of hours and about $100 to fix it into running shape. The paint is gone, bitsi inop and rear speakers destroyed by people jamming stuff into the trunk. I'll fix the bitsi (based on info from this site) and the speakers. Not sure I want to invest in paint.
This last week, I paid $2500 for a 2009 LS sedan with 120k. The car is tight and in very good condition inside and out. Had just been serviced and new tires put on. Looks and drives like it has only 40k on it.
We picked up ours last April. Had 137k on it. Now has 149k. They wanted $2900 for it. I sicked my wife on them. Walked(drove) out with it for $2000 after taxes and fees. Has saved us plenty of $ just on fuel. Plus it's a good little car to teach the wife and in-laws how to drive.
I bought my used 2004 Chevy Aveo (67k miles), fully equipped with broken timing belt and bent valves, for $50. Inside the Aveo I found recyclables and office supplies I was able to return for cash value bringing my total purchase to $17. Score!! Cost about $450 to get it going again.
I just bought an 06 hatch, 5 speed with 120k on it last week. Paid 1900 for it. Has had new timing belt, 4 tires, brakes, suspension on all 4 corners within 20,000 miles. It needs a valve cover gasket in a bad way, the slave cylinder blew out when I was driving it home from the purchase (fairly easy/cheap fix) and now the CEL is on. Seems to be running fine so hopefully it's just a sensor. If it runs well it should pay for itself in fuel savings vs my Nissan Titan in no time.
My wife and I purchased our stick-shift '05 Chevy Aveo LS Hatchback from a neighbor with 40,000 miles on the odometer back in September of 2011 for $5,200. She's definitely still economy transportation personified, but she was a major upgrade from our 2000 Chevy Metro coupe at the time.
Aside from minor niggles such as the lack of cruise control, power ANYTHING, cornering abilities that rival those of a drunken sailor, and the incessant rattling of the dang carbon fiber interior door arm rests which have always been loose, she's been a dependable ride and doubles as my hunting vehicle.
I've overhauled all four brakes, put new tires on her, and replaced the timing belt at 60,000 miles (including water pump, serpentine belt idler pulley, thermostat, and thermostat housing), but that's been it aside from the usual oil changes. Still going strong at 65,000 miles and a champ in the snow during our Michigan winters!
I paid $500.00 for my 2009 Aveo bought it from sister in law excellent condition
I just purchased 2009 Aveo the car is is in excellent running mode. The only issue is the paint it looks like it has been scratched badly but the previous owner said it is Factory Defect . Does anyone else have that issue? Please reply thanks.
Bought my black 2009 Aveo LS with manual transmission a few days ago. It has about 13,000 miles (22,900 km). The previous owner was a lady who only drove the car during the summer. She died late last winter so the car has not been used in since last summer. I paid 900 dollars Canadian for it. It needed new radiator hoses. I took it out for a spin today and the coolant temperature went up to maximum. However, when I turn the heater on full, the temperature remained at half way. Next step will be a complete radiator flush or a new radiator. I knew that I had to do some work on the car when I bought it.
