My 2008 Pontiac Wave (red) is almost a base model that came with a manual transmission. 118,000 km on the clock . . . bought it for $90 (Canadian) = about $75 US. A former pizza delivery car from Hinton, Alberta . . . definitely not with a clean interior. It had a small coolant leak from a broken plastic hose coupler; the owner claimed he couldn't get a new part.
Repaired it in 20 minutes (two trips to NAPA just down the road) during an early winter snowstorm. Drove the car 400 km east to Edmonton at 120 km/hour. So far - so good. So I think I'm going to like this car.
An extremely common vehicle present in every self-serve auto wrecker within the Edmonton area.
118k km is low for a 2008, but those are probably pretty hard city miles. I'll be interested to know how the car holds up over time. Please keep us updated!
Bought a 2006 Aveo hatchback with 137,000 miles on it. Was at the Mitsubishi used car lot for almost 4 months and never got sold. I asked why, and they said that it didn't have AC and the engine gasket cover needed replacement. So I bought it for 1,000$ plus 50 for the gasket replacement and I am now driving it for a week( 600miles) for a 130miles daily.
I changed the windshield wiper nozzle(13$) this weekend and I feel I am gonna be loving this car. I bought this as a daily to save gas.
Yes, timing belt was changed at 90k miles. This was an office service( one owner) vehicle so a little cleaner than most 1900$ beaters. No accidents either.
I just recently purchased my 2007 aveo 5 ls like 2 weeks ago for a grand total of $200. And all it needs to pass a safety is 2 tires a passenger door handle and a couple wiper blades, got it of the mother in law and i think its got just over 200,000 km on the clock
