SCORE!! Nice find ST!
My new (to me) Aveo I just purchased a week ago is a 2004 sedan. It's in good condition with minor interior/exterior damage. Has 64,000 miles on the OD with a new transmition and blown engine. It was sitting for four years before I got it. I paid $425 for it and swapped over the engine from my rusted out 2005 hatchback. I have around $700 (plus tires) into it.
I got my 2004 aveo automatic with 208, 000 km on it for 800$ canadian.
I got it at a discount because the rear main seal had walked out and was leaking due to rubing on the flex plate. Also the timing belt was due in 20, 000 km.
Bought mine three days ago, got a pretty good deal from what I've been seeing others go for in the area and online. It's a 2006 Suzuki swift+, 5-spd manual, 162k for 1225$ Canadian. Virtually nothing wrong with it besides a minor exhaust leak and a small rust patch on the back right door. It also came with a set of winter tires on rims, but they aren't in great condition.
silver 2006 aveo hatch ls 130k miles. after tax I paid $3,500
I tend to only buy Aveos when they're already blown up. This time was a different find since it was my first 2nd gen, and the engine is fine, but has a blown up transmission! The girl didn't know how to drive stick and got stuck on a hill. The pressure plate came apart and took out the starter and put 3 holes in the transmission. It's a 2009 with 77k miles and I picked it up for $500.
Surprisingly the block looks untouched! I was able to snag a used transmission with about the same amount of miles and a 6 month warranty for $113. The starter mounts were ok, but it took off part of the starter housing that's inside the transmission. The end of the shaft (past the gear) didn't look quite right either, so I ended up just buying a used starter too. I have the resurfaced flywheel and new clutch and pressure plate in. I hope to get the rest of it back together this week.

I bought Eve, my 2011 Aveo5 LT hatchback in 2014 at $8,000. It had about 62,000 I want to say. Been having problems with it lately and I still don't know what's wrong with it. Seems to not want to go past 2,000 rpms every now and then when accelerating and the shop won't even look at it until I can get it to start acting up for them.
