REPORTS FROM MEDIA AND LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALLY INDICATE THAT HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF VEHICLES HAVE GONE OFF THE ROADS. THE GOVERNOR HAS ACTIVATED THE NATIONAL GUARD WHO ARE CURRENTLY RESCUING STRANDED MOTORISTS.
This came from weather service for our area.
You can not commit crimes in a Aveo. Its just not fast enough.
yeah, PA reset all the speed limits on all highways to 45 last night, not sure if its been lifted yet, i guess ill find out hen i go up them.
i've been on the highways when they were closed, but never in the aveo.. my awd TT, with sport snows. got pulled over twice being told by state boys to get off the highway, i told the second one, to radio ahead to let me pass, as its unsafe for them to try to catch me.. and unsafe for us both to pull off the highway (even though you didnt "know" where the highway was...)
Lol, Yeah we have people stranded around here too with 7 foot snow drifts on some of the county roads. I didn't see any cops last night, they probably said screw this and stayed home.

i live in fort riley KS and we have been getting quite a bit of snow and ice over the past two months. mine (2011 aveo5, manual with the stock tires) does just fine. i just have to be easy at starts and stops to prevent spinning and sliding. other than that i have no real easy in the snow.
If you have the 5spd, second gear starts are a great thing, sometimes 3rd if it's really slick and you know how.

Took my room mate to work early yesterday morning. 6 inches in the street. No issues other than the aforementioned room mate whining that I wouldn't let him drive my new car, let alone in 6 inches of unplowed snow. I need a new room mate. lol Preferable one that is female and has her own tools.
Lol, good luck with that. My GF and I have an understanding, her truck is hers, and my car is mine. Although I work on and drive the truck occasionally, she don't get to drive my car. If she knew how to drive a 5 spd that might be a different story.

Before my brother-in-law passed away, he had a 5 speed Kia Spectre5. My sister couldn't (and still can't) drive a manual. He would offer to teach her, but she refused every time.
My dad's trick for having my mom keep away from driving his car is that he got a Pontiac G8, and he made it "too powerful" for her. I guess one day she said she'd never drive it because it's too fast for her. My dad's response was "good, I didn't want you to drive my damn car anyways". Now that I think of it, maybe I should go do this to my car to defer her from driving mine... Or go with the cheaper option, and go take my driver's test, get my license & change the title where I'm the primary owner, then my dad. I don't trust my mom's driving in ANY car! Including a 4-cylinder, 106 hp car!
