Red face I need some Door paneling help!

Hey everyone, yep, I am back for more. Thanks for your continued support in helping me make this car run smoothly. One would think when a car is being sold by a used car lot, and posts their pics on cars dot com, and use words like am/fm radio with cd, this means the car has a working radio. Sorry Aaron Tippin, "there is something wrong with my radio". Haha, get the pun... Ok back to seriousness, ok, so I did my homework and looked at the speakers underneath the trunk space, both blown. Next I need to get into the door panels of the front to change the front ones. Now do I need a special tool or what? I don't wanna break anything. Any good advice on kinds or can I go to my local salvage lot and just buy 4 speakers for $20. I need some Jams man. I'm like falling asleep to the hum of the heater..... ok. Thanks for any advice as you all give great ones. Roger wilco, over and out.

You're also going to need a window crank removal tool.

I'm surprised speakers are that cheap, the yards up by me are major dicks when it comes to speakers, and most of the time they don't work anyway.

There should be a how to somewhere here, if you search. I used a thin rag to pop the clip out on the window cranks. http://www.aveoforum.com/forum/f84/a...48/index4.html
but the actual tool isn't all that expensive.

Ill be doing all 4 of my speakers soon. One major thing of note is that the front door speakers are only 4". You can fit 6 1/2" speakers in there but you need to purchase or make 1" spacers. If you go with 6 1/2s they have to be shallow mount. I went out and purchased some $30/pair kenwood from Sonic Electronix. They're not going to win any awards but should be an ok upgrade on stock.

Not mine, but I found this one helpful.
      Picasa Mobile

I didn't realize Thud had already posted the how-to.
