Improvements for my commute to school
im looking for ideas to help with my mpg for commuting to school every week...my aveo has 63,000 miles on it. I figured I would give plugs and wires a change. I was also thinking of doing a thing of that injector cleaner but does it really work and what do you recommend? another thing I was thinking of was aerodynamics since I will be doing mostly highway (ie 70mph+). For this I was thinking something of a homemade splitter on the bottom of the front lip....would that help out at all? any input is welcome.
Re: Improvements for my commute to school
for every 10 miles an hour slower, 20% increase in mpg :P....I wish. Drafting will help a lot though.

yea i tried that with trucks but sometimes they go to damn slow......i tried going slower to but didn't see much change.
another thing i was thinking about was if a CAI or and SRI would be better for highway driving
Re: Improvements for my commute to school
sri, becouse at that speed you don't need tq but horsepower, but ether way at the 2500-3500 rpm they don't do much good. but i read that warm air going in to the intake improves gas milege caz it will take less gas to get the proper mixture so sri would work better

Try one of those tornados, or vornados  and give a report back

does it intercept the o2 sensors output? if not when in closed loop, which he will be most of the time the ecu will bring the a/f right back where it should be.
Re: Improvements for my commute to school
hmm that is an interesting idea mike...
Re: Improvements for my commute to school
Ok, I'll be serious. New spark plugs, new air filter, and properly inflated tires. Not much more you really can do. It will take a while to recoup what you spend on a fancy whatchamacallit, getting a few more MPG, if you ever really do. The other way to get better gas MPG is as was said before, back of the throttle a bit, it really makes a diff.
