i need a hub bearing for my 04 aveo can any one help
Try your local autoparts store.
i believe the 04 is considered nla. because the drum and bearing were one piece or something?
i would try napa specifically, or the dealer.
if you cant find anything, then you will need the upgrade? which is an 06? and up unit. which potentially could have the same bearing anyhow?
Try rockauto.com No autoparts stores carries this they do not sell the Rear wheel Bearing. Just The Rear Wheel Hub I put one on my car last year. look behind the drum brakes and there is four bolts that are 14 mm remove the bolts and the thing that has adjust play on it there is a lock nut that has to be removed once off pull the hub out and the installation is the reverse of the removal. I hope this helps.
I had to replace mine while it was in the shop this winter and the rear bearing cost me $180 cdn from GM. I wasn't very happy but I didn't have much choice at the time. It was cold out and it happened right before xmas, so it had to be done. If you have the time shop around go for it but no local dealers had any in stock.
Good luck!

$86 dollars each is crazy though too, Another reason to do the rear disc swap..
Strange.... I just called Napa here in Canada and they don't have any. I'm still choked at GM for charging me an arm and a leg!
well, you could try again with a part number? not that you need it, just to verify availability..
Rabbit, could you tell me more about the rear disk swap? I know its probably not really doable, but can I use a front disk set from another aveo in the back AND retain the e-brake capability?
2006 Chevrolet Aveo a.k.a. Holden Barina – SOLD
2008 Chevrolet Cobalt SS/TC - SOLD
you can not do that, you need a spindle mount system.
i dont want to reveal too muck about the way it works, its another very simple adaptation.
but with what i make it can be done for as little as $300-350 if you buy the rest of the parts used.
(i really try to develop everything to match an aveo owners budget)
it will retain ebrake capabilities, be a bolt on kit, and not change the bolt pattern or anything. It will space out your rear wheel an undetermined amount. (i haven't measured but only like 12-15mm per side, which is perfectly doable).
