      My 04 Aveo LIVES

Ok, between work, weather, other projects and learning curve on this, today it runs! Needed head gasket.
Changed timing belt and water pump while at it.
Shotgunned in new crank, cam, air temp, map sensors and fuel pump.
      New starter/battery.

Now after all that, it refused to start cold without ether. Then would run seeming fine. Checked codes. Nothing. Finally got noids and fuel pressure gauge. Passed noid test. Only 22psi on fuel?? Forums say 55psi?? Hmmmmmm----new fuel pump flakely? Took it out and apart today. The hard plastic nozzle tube on fuel pump broke off inside holder. Good thing I kept old pump! Put old one back in. It fired right up dead cold and runs 55psi. Love IT!!

Buttoned up fuel pump, put air box back on, inner fender liners and closed her down for the day. Next, insure, inspect, change title and register! Might treat it to a detail job and New Image?

Incidentally, today might be my last day with mine...and I'm sad! It wont pass inspection any more, but I had until November of this year for that, but I found a deal on another car, and it looks like tomorrow I'll be pulling plates, I'll make another thread about it

Inspection? What fascist nation do you live in where the government can inspect your car and tell you whether you can or cannot drive it?

The computer on mine won't communicate fully with the inspection computer. Inspector says drive another 40-50 miles for computer to learn everything. My code reader finally stopped tossing codes before I took it down to be inspected. Last was p0455 if I recall right? Found that to be the fuel pump seal wasn't set right.

Drives fine and not one hiccup so far. Disconnected the DRL. Save me on bulbs!

If yours is the NO2 emissions? Drive it near empty, put inn your favorite fuel cleaner and fill with premium. Drive around 3 days. Take it back. Last car failed I followed this. My NNO2 fell from the 700's to the 200's.

Sorry to read about your car. Might rethink what repair vs another car's problems will be? I don't give up on mine till near the body falls apart. Or a serious engine driveline failure happens.
