Now I am not a knowledgeable car guy and not familiar with the mods that have been listed and don't know how to do them BUT I am mechanically inclined and with some explanation i can usually tackle new tasks with ease.

For example....I stripped down my first guitar and rebuilt it including all electronics and wiring.

I had a laptop that was toast and I recovered all the data on it and was able to clean the vruses out and save the laptop.

I taught myself how to do some carpentry and drywall finishing

I say all that to ask if any of you would mind explaining those mods that were mentioned earlier in the thread
which mods? I only see CAI and exhaust...Cold air intake is a replacement intake pipe that leads into the hole that leads to the fender to get colder air (more dense)...exhaust is replacing the stock exhaust pipe with a little bigger size and putting in high flow exhaust components

Wow, it's sounds like almost all of you got robbed at the dealer, i drove off the lot in my 09' Aveo5 with 7 miles on it for 10,400 and we dont have sales tax in alaska. My interest rate is way up at 15%, but i'm making all my payments double to cut it down. Mine is an LS though, no cruise, power windows or locks but has onstar. I can't see spending 20g's for an aveo...might as well pick up a new WRX for that price.

I think you're talking CAD. In USD, a new WRX starts at $24,995. An STI starts at $34,995.

Here in Fairbanks, Alaska the new WRX Wagon w/ premium package is 21,615.00 US. WRX Sedan w/ premium package is 19,643.00 US. And STI Wagon w/ Premium package is 37,274.00 US. I was shopping around quite a bit before I got my aveo because I wanted AWD, but settled for FWD given the price and economy difference.

I love the new STI. I test drove one down in Springfield-D.C. area in november visited my girlfriends folks. It was sick, slightly used...it had 9,500 miles on it and it was an 08. They were selling it with a factory warranty for 22,000.00 US.

Remember the difference in countries people. In Canada we always pay about 5k more on ANY vehicle regardless of price. A base 'yoda Yaris hatch is $14k here, an Aveo isn't far off. I got mine for $17k for a Wave SE with all options (even side curtains and ABS) excluding the autobox...

Just the way it is here. A SS Turbo 'balt is easily $26k with leather...

he stays in long island bought it new with all the options im sure it could hit 20g's. Now most people here bout theirs because it was cheaper and had great gas mileage, but he wanted all the options and im guessing gas mileage too lol. he just needed to know if there were any mods to get some more power.

on top of the CAI and Exhaust lightweight pulleys release a lil lag and improve acceleration.
