Trifecta has a tune for.this car but I'm sure it's pointless with no engine mods. I have a magna flow exhaust manifold resonator delete and magnaflow street series muffler. Cone filter also. Didn't do anything but make the car louder
The guys at the muffler shop told me not to put magnaflow or any other exhaust on my car. They said it wouldn't make a difference. Instead they put straight pipe and a import muffler on it. Right now the sound is a Lil raspy. They said that to clean that up I should put a cold air intake on it and remove the secondary catalytic converter.
Why? The second catalytic converter only increases the back pressure on the engine and quiets down the sound.
how much horsepower do you think removing it will net you? 1? 1.5? Are you realistically trying to get a nice sound out of a 1.6 4 cylinder engine?
Yes. Because I'm the type of person that when told I can't, I end up finding a way to make it work.
I like the way the import mufflers sounds and I want my car to sound like that. Plus, a slight increase in horsepower is always welcomed.
I went with DC because it was available at the time. It's not about the brand, but the type of muffler. I chose the DC because it's an import street racer muffler, or what the Okies around here call a Fart Can. Instead of a rumbling sound like trucks and most sport cars it has a vroom sound.
Tomorrow I plan on uploading a vid of my car's muffler on my page so everyone who wants to can listen to it.
Modding an Aveo is like finger painting with your own poop. It's not really worth it in the long run and the money can be spent better elsewhere (like a faster car)
I woulld rather use the Aveo has a beater car and get a Fox body mustang or an ls1 f-body to have fun with. Either can be had for $5k all day
2004 Aveo beater car
2005 Aveo LT. 5-speed beater car (DOA)
Cool, hope you have fun with that.
