hi man if your looking into hids youll need to know wjat bulb you have on there.. i have a 2010 aveo5 ls and was looking for that too.. i think your bulb is 9003 model and for the brightness..the more k's it has..the less candle power i think...
6000k diamond white
8000k light blue
10 000k deep blue
12000k light purple
30000k deep purple..
i would go with a 6000k since its still a little blue and you get great lighting...make sure when you order you have your bulb number, temperature color(6000k or your choice) and make sure you order high AND low hid's
got mine on eBay $25 10000k
anyone know the bulb for an 06 sedan?
h4 high/low beam
High Intensity Discharge Kit most popularly known as VVME HID Kit is used to improve
their light output of vehicles these days. HID kits are installed to replace the existing Halogen bulbs or fog lights with
the Xenon Arch Head lamps as the light output after installing HID kit is 2 to 3 times more than the standard halogen lights.
Apart from the glaring factor, HID kit is also used because it consumes less power as compared to the halogen lights.
HID kit consists of HID bulbs & HID ballasts to be installed in the existing halogen headlamp; some of the HID kits available
are Plug-n-Play while some others come with adapters. HID Kit is used for brighter light output. HID Kit that gives the
factory OEM look and is easy to install is mostly preferred. HID kit is available for different vehicles & is also available
in different colors. Different HID kits are available with color temperatures that varies from 2000k to 14000k, color
temperature relate to the color of the light output. For more: HID kit Xenon HID Conversion Lights LCD Projector Tattoo kit CCTV for sale

VVME HID can be chose if you want to save money.
DDM tuning is the best place to buy HIDS, HANDS DWN! they come with a lifetime warranty. :)2
Different car need different types of lights, you can find a very comprehensive webshop for lights. as i like cheap hid lights,so I always go to the VVME shop, there are mostly all type hid and different colors light, i can usually find various types of lights .
i chose 6000k 55waff hid kit . it is clear in the dark .
Good info. Subscribed for reference.
better buy in local store, easier for warranty, and you can see the color before you buy.,
i have been using 4300k hid for all my vehicles,
one was very nice with a little hint of purple, color is very very close to some OEM hids
the one i have now,,,, it is also a "so called" 4300k, but the color is crap, like the euro light blue tint bulb.
bi-xenon is less reliable, (using only one xenon bulb, if you flick the highbeam theres a piece of metal flicks around the bulb to make it high beam)
i had that kind, it failed, some of my friends has, and it also failed very soon.
xenon with a halogen bulb attached, that kind is more reliable.
and you can have your choice to have xenon on, or you can turn on just your halogen, (put on high beam locked)
put it on halogen, and you can turn it to HID anytime, to turn some head
the cheapest hid ,i think you can go to vvme ,the quallity also not bad .i installed one pair last month.
therer are many of type .include almost type of hid conversion.
ohh,i like this post ,so interesting and helpful for me .

Do hid bulbs burn out a lot? I got silver stars...and they've burnt out several times.live finally given up. Hid lights are just bulbs..or do they require resistors and wires and all that or what?
they have a ballast. then the bulb. Your silver stars will burn out more frequently if you still have drls on.
Yes, I experienced them burning out a lot. Yes, DRLs were on. I'd like to do HiD bulbs, I'm sure it can't be that difficult, I haven't ever done anything electrical before. Just gotta figure out quality bulbs/ballasts that fit my car. I'd like headlights to match dog lights which I will get hopefully soon. Match as far as color log/intensity
The best thing is to get proper projectors retrofitted into your headlight housings as far as the best light output and lack of annoying glare to the oncoming drivers.
Now that that's out of the way, the HIDs can burn out a lot too if you don't ground them right. Best thing for them (even the PnP kit) is to run a wiring harness, that way the power to the actual ballast is uninterrupted and constant directly from the battery, and your original harness is only used to trigger the relay in your harness. Plus, if you're going with bi-xenon (to keep your high beam capability) they're going to ship you a harness anyways.
And regardless whether you go HID or another set of SilverStarts, rabbit is right, just disable the DRL.
I don't think I was able to find any,to fit a 2009 aveo5
I'm sure there are. All you should need are some H4 bi-xenons IIRC.
DO NOT PUT IN A HID KIT IN HALOGEN HOUSING. Wow guys, this is not safe to other drivers on the road. I can not tell you how many people do this and blind oncoming traffic. To get the proper use of HID's please visit hidplanet and check out Retrofitting, PLEASE. Projectors are used for HID's to use the light properly from the HID bulbs. The reflector bowls in our Aveo's are not made to handle a Plug-In-Play or more commonly referred to as a PNP HID kit. As some one already stated, because of the glare factor. Bi-xenon is when your projector has a shield that moves up and down to throw light above the cut off line (hence the name HIGH-BEAM, since it throws light HIGHER above the cut off) to create a high beam. There is no BI-Xenon bulb, just Bi-Xenon projectors. There are dual filament bulbs, google it, like the ones used in our car. Please do some more research before sticking a PNP kit into your car and having worse light output then you started with. When you have light output that just glares everywhere except the on the road in front of you, you have less usable light. You might light up the the tops of cars and trees, but if the light is not on the ground, what good is it doing you?
That's a nice first post, bro. He can aim them way low and somewhat rectify the glare, but yes, the retrofits are the way to go.
but aiming them down will be a loss in distance vision, no? If there is a lot of foreground light, it will give you a sense of false brightness. The more light we have closer to our eyes, our pupils are less dilated. So you would have a good chance of out driving your lights. Meaning at highway speeds, if your lights are aimed down, you can not see far enough a head of your car to maneuver safely around an object on the road. Better lights/lighting are suppose to enhance your vision and safety. Not be a hassle. I just bought a 2005 Lt sedan for my wife. And going to have a retrofit done. I'll pose pics once it is done.
