      O2 Sensor after catalytic converter

I have a 2009 Aveo5 1.6L. The O2 sensor after the catalytic converter wires were cut by a sharp edge of the splash guard. It also torn a single wire right up to the sensor which I can't splice them back together.

So I ordered a $17.50 universal sensor that was supposed to work on this car. A direct fit one by BOSCH is $181 and the NTK ones are even more.

      I am getting a P0054 - HO2S Heater Resistance Bank 1 Sensor 2 now.

Can anyone tell me here what is the factory o2 sensor heater resistance is supposed to be?

The only thing I can think of is a crappy soldering job I did on the heater wires. I know the o2 sensor is supposed to pull oxygen through the wires but that would should not effect the heater resistance.

I had the resistance code as well when I replaced my upstream sensor with a universal. This car simply does not like universal sensors it seems. Bite the bullet and buy the direct fit.

The link below is for an OEM direct fit sensor.

Well I will be damned. This 2009 belongs to a cousin of mine. I think I might have to order it for her since she might not be able to afford it. I found one that is ACdelco direct fit for $120 Part number 213-4551 which looks exactly what I removed.

I also have a friend who owns a 2004 Aveo and we used a universal one on there for the upstream and it threw a code for slow response had to get a OEM one to make the ECU happy again. I thought it was a fluke for the 2004 not liking the universal. It baffles me on why they even sell universals claims they will work when it causes issues like these.

I heard bad things about Bosch sensors. It looks like the Aveo5 used NTK O2 sensors from the factory and I found the same exact one or $75. On Amazon NTK 25709 O2 sensor. I would rather spend the extra $15 over a Bosch to get the correct one this time.
