Naw, i need it for comparison, and after lookin through all my pics, i realized i dont have any good, clear pics of it for what i need it for. If you read my post in the spring install how to thread, you will understand completely.
i cant get a pic but i will run outside to check out what its suppose to look like
Thanks! Anything at this point would help. Is there a gap?
Also, I would still like to get a pic from anyone.
Thanks!

Sorry...after I looked at your pics, I realized that I did indeed have a gap. I went back out and took another pic. Not that clear, but you can still see a gap. My car is stock with 4400 miles on it( just got it in at the end of January)

u can see though that at one point that rubber gasket under neath touchs the tower...possible the reason for suspension noise
Oooohhhh ok, cool! Thanks guys! Exactly what I needed Steelworker, I appreciate. So it comes stock with a gap like that... Hmmmm...
Edit: And also thanks to AveoSam, you posted right before I did lol.
Now, my next question is...Is there supposed to be a gap there? Now i noted that the gap on my passengers side is a lil smaller, and the noise is coming from the drivers side(larger gap). Guess maybe something isnt tight enough, which is weird considering I used my air wrench.
gap is normal, the strut is supposed to "float" a bit... it's the same on my jetta...
It being out of tolerance (too big of a gap) could mean worn down bump stops maybe?
Interesting... My bump stops looked pretty good from what i could tell. But Im also not an expert so I ultimately dont know.
I will have to have them check it all out when I get an alignment done. Surprisingly though, my steering wheel is straighter now, used to have it slightly turned to go straight but now its just about right.
LOL Mike..I freaked out when I did my springs and noticed that gap that wasn't there before...Sam says it's spose to be like that...I wish I knew before I took the whole assmebly apart twice thinking I did something wrong.
OMG! LOL, that must have made for an exciting time. What im thinking Im gonna do is, take that top piece off, the one I freaked out about, and retighten the nut that holds the spring in its compressed state. Im thinkin that maybe the spring may be a little loose and just needs tightening since there is a difference in the gaps. If that dont solve the problem then I dont know what to do.Quote:
