Possible to Lock Doors without Key or It's Remote?

I recently purchased a 2008 Aveo sedan and was wondering if it is possible to lock the doors without using the key or it's built in remote? On other cars I have, I can press a button or the door lock button as I leave the car to do this.

you could push the plunger down. I hear that works.

Not with my car. That does not work.
