Power Steering Delete

My power steering pump is really starting to growl now and they're particularly expensive on our cars. So I wondered if I could just delete the power steering. I've had many small cars with no power steering and it's never been an issue. But what would be involved in that? Would I just plug the hose ports?

Guys that do PS deletes remove the lines to the pump and connect them. This creates a loop and thus a place for the hydraulic fluid to move as the rack goes back and forth.

I've seen some who do that, they call it looping. I've also seen some that say to fill it full of grease and plug it.
