any ideas on where i can find a bypass pulley?
any ideas on where i can find a bypass pulley?
i am not sure there is a pulley added, i think its just a shorter belt (is on my 09)
Oh, hey! Rabbit!Taking out power steering... that's something else I've thought about doing! Those are some decent gains! Um... Just wanted to say that. I intend to figure out whether my car has it or not, first.

HaHa! I'm already on it!I asked someone earlier what they spent on their setup!
This car's my new "hobby"... I say that being a lot more knowledgeable on the subject of addiction(s) than cars!
I am curious about what all can be done, and how much difference it makes!
i always feel like i am saying this, why not do both? :P
less power loss from not have power steering, and a turbo for more power
i have been thinking about if i take the pulley off, and cant run the ac because of that, i could use the power steering pulley on a Mini cooper supercharger, and mount it in the power steering position. I would still need all the other stuff, but the belts would be figured out. and i think the pulley might be an acceptable size for the speed. (or too big, so mount it higher with stock pulley)
If you are talking about an A/C bypass I have one on the used motor I am installing which will have my a/c so I won't need it. If Daox doesn't have it PM me.
This is just a theory I've been going over, since reading about the grounding kit; while maybe having little or no impact on an unmodified aveo, is this a time when they'd come into play even more? If you are trying to run the accessories on a bare minimum of power? Like, would one of those make the demands of the underdrive pulley even less? Just wondering... interesting stuff!![]()

i haven't read about the grounding kit yet but i really like this power steering bypass idea - what about bypassing/removing the pump and swapping a smaller pinion gear so we can still parallel park?
