Reporter seeking comment on brake recall

Hi. I am a reporter with The Associated Press in Detroit. I'd like to talk to 2009-2010 Aveo owners whose cars were included in last month's recall for brake problems. This is for a larger story on global recalls. If you are interested, please contact me at ddurbin@ap.org. Thank you.

I have not either, and I can't say my brakes were defective, I got almost 40k miles out of the originals. That's better than many of my higher performance cars.

GM recalled around 2,000 Aveos from the 2009-2010 model years last month. They have a type of brake fluid that doesn't prevent corrosion, so over time the breaks could get spongy and not work as well. The issue I'm following is that they knew about this a couple of years ago in Europe but didn't immediately recall them here. So I was wondering if anyone had brake issues and might have been affected by this. Thanks.

GM just made the announcement last month, so you may not have been notified. It's the 2009-2010 Aveo. They have a type of brake fluid that doesn't prevent corrosion, so over time the brakes could get spongy or not work properly. I'm trying to find someone who may have had this issue. Thanks!
