Absolutely. If the car were geared for economy, most American drivers would say that the car can't get out of its own way.
I have that option on my old Galant. But that car has more than enough power even in economy mode, so I never need to activate the 'power' button.A "Power/Economy" button/programming would have solved the problem though.
I am wondering about those tuner companies that do modifications to alter the shift points, however. I assume that their goal is to raise the shift points so that the car will have more power. But some of us want to lower the shift points so we can get better fuel economy. Would their programming mods make the latter possible?
