Should I buy the 2005 Aveo?

Hey everyone, new here, figured if anyone would know about an aveo, it would be the people on this forum.

But, I came across a 2005 Cevy Aveo with 60,000 miles on it. It's my bosses, he is getting a divorce and needs to sell it because he is moving in two weeks.

He said that his dad had owned it before he had passed, been in his garage ever sense. thing is in mint condition, he wants $2000 for it. I think it's a fair deal, he said he would put in a new battery. It's what I'm looking for cheap and good on gas and seems like low miles for the year.

But as I read about it seems like the timing belt goes out around that mileage range, is this as common as it seems? Should I ask for less because he doesn't know if his dad had ever changed it, I'm assuming a older man probably took care of it.

But also don't want it to break and have to pay for a new engine... more then what the car is worth.

What you all think, still a deal or no?

$2000 is not unreasonable for that amount of miles and condition... I would try to get him to pay for a new timing belt or at least pay for half... it never hurts to ask.

Go for it, even if you have to replace the timing belt that is a good purchase price.
Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....
