you find all the factory v8 stuff from a junkyard Monza, if you can locate one, and your all set..
Idk, I like civics...peticularly EG hatchbacks. Accord are cool though, if that's the route you decide you want to go you should look into an H23 JDM swap. That engine makes so much power a turbo would just be for fun. I love hondas, they're very simple too and yes the parts are everywhere. I bought the aveo because it looked cool, it was cheap, it's good on gas and its unique. The car has a lot of potential. As far as racing goes, I'm a die-hard dubber. If you truly want to fall in love with your car and hate to shut the door to your garage for fear of missing it a VW would serve you well. I have an 87' mk2 Jetta coupe 1.8T. It's pretty fast and parts are everywhere for VW's.

You mentioned you dad has a shop. So I'll tell you my personal preference. I'd find an old muscle car. Maybe not a super popular one. Something you can find cheap. You mentioned your taking autobody etc. So make it your project during school. build it from the ground up. build a nice Chevy 350 for it. Or go 383. You'll have torque you friends will be jelous of and a car worth a ton more at the end. Depending on what car you find.
If you only want a tuner then so be it. But I would think with the resource of having a shop you could get a car that you'll have alot of fun with and make money on in the long run. Plus you'll have your family to help at times too.
Like I said I'd be looking for older v8 cars instead. But thats just me.

2007 Chevy Corvette Z06
2002 GMC Yukon XL (my tow vehicle)
1978 Jeep Renagade CJ5 Levi Edition
1965 Pontiac GTO (428, Tripower, 4spd)
I second that idea of a Musical car for your first project car. My first car was a Plymouth Duster, spent many a weekend with my buddies rummaging though the wreckers for parts. She was an absolute beast after I was finished with her. Know one could touch me on the track or street.
I don’t recommend street racing, it almost cost me my license and my car.
chuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i gotta get one too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Originally Posted by AveoBlack
also, the underglow kits add about 10hp, i only got 8hp though
you guys have all forgotten fuzzy dice are better than nos.
i didnt see any real gains with my usf fuzzy dice, i guess it depends on which ones you have
i also heard that painting your brake drums improves your braking power, anyone know if this is true?
actually, if you coat brake drums with ceramic paint, they supposed dissipate heat better and that would improve braking.
I thought ceramic didn't dissapate heat that well and that is why ceramic brake pads warp rotors faster, cause it doesn't cool as fast. correct me if I am wrong.
