      You should try my suggestion. The towel or rag will get stiff and sometimes leaves frozen lint that you'll have to scrape off. It holds a lot of snow and ice and stays wet after you remove it. But, this stuff I use is water repellent, perforated, flexible, and durable. And you can get big sheets of it. Enough to cover any size car or truck windshield.

      Be sure to get the specific brand I mentioned. Because the other brands have larger perforations which can leave tiny ice blocks stuck to your windshield.
