OK, so I bought a 2008 Aveo5 from a good friend for my daughter. 115000 miles, very well taken care of. Put a timing belt in it (couldn't pin down the last replacement and I didn't want to take a chance) and drove it for a while to work the bugs out (there weren't any to speak of...). And wouldn't you know it... I fell in love with it! So much that I considered keeping it for myself. But alas, she had already seen it and I didn't dare bring the wrath of a jilted 16 year old girl down on my head, so I bought one for myself. A 2009 Aveo5 hatchback. 85000 miles, garaged, very clean and well looked after. I drove it for a couple of weeks and then the bugs started popping up. Well, that's where the forum became indispensable. In two days you've guided me through a misfire (coil pack), cruise control (just adding a switch, who'da thunk it?), cabin air filter (damn, that A/C blows...) and tire size (I'm liking 195/60/14, got 'em on order). Next, somewhere between 85k and 100k, will be a timing belt. The information that I got from the forum made everything just about painless. Thanks to you guys (and girls!) for keeping the forum up and running. You are heroes!
