Trunk will not open

Shoot some WD40 in the keyhole and slowly, lightly turn the key (don't snap it off!) back and forth. Put a hairdryer to it warming up any hard accumulated grease/gunk. Had this problem with truck, hatchback. My latch was stuck on my Aveo. I hardly ever opened the hatch.
"Click" but not unlatch. I just kept un/locking until it opened. When I did get it open I lubed it up good with chain and cable lube working it for several minutes. I remember to open it now and again lubing it summer/winter. So far, so good.
