      turbo

I have a 07 aveo5 svm 5door hatchback with the E-teck 1.6L and I was just told the other day that my parents are getting me a universal turbo kit for it and my only question is sense there is no mass air flow sensor just a air temp sensor will I be able to add the turbo kit to my car?

I have found a ems that will let put a turbo on my car sense i have modified my four-cylinder Powersports application beyond the factory ECU's ability to control engine operation.

No one makes a turbo kit for my 07 1.6L E-tek motor and I found a turbo kit that will work but I have to get AEM's engine management system in order for my factory computer to sense more air being forced into the intake.

You don't seem to see the point the members are trying to make here. As i read your posts, you really don't seem to know what you are getting yourself into. So here's the very basic deal...

Universal turbo kits are complete crap, you will most likely have to replace the parts before you even install them, that's how cheap they are. The turbos that come with those can last you less than a week, i've seen some break in under 5 minutes.

Then theres alot of parts you are missing that are not included in the kit. You will need a wideband air/fuel sensor and that alone is almost 300 dollars, you will need better injectors, then you need a stronger clutch (Do you know where you can find a clutch? Good luck with these cars!) Implementing the AEM ecu into the car might not work with all the stock sensors, you might need additionnal sensors and wiring, and i highly, highly doubt it can even work with the ignition system these cars use, even fitting the turbo will require quite alot of custom work, do you have a turbo manifold?? Etc etc etc.... There are ALOT of parts!!

There's alot more that goes on to install a turbo in an N/A car than you seem to know about. If you are serious about this then i would HIGHLY suggest you get QUALITY parts and not a universal kit, as i've said they are too cheap... You don't want to blow your engine now do you? And get it professionally installed and tuned if you don't know how yourself. Do you understand the basics on how an engine runs under boost?

What are your power goals? How deep is your wallet? Because if you think its gonna cost you under 1000$ to boost a car properly then you are horribly wrong. I built my turbo kit with quality parts and it cost me over 2000 dollars, plus i did all the work myself. If you get it done by a shop, they can do all the work for you but it's going to cost you 4000-5000 dollars if not more.

I could go on all nite but i'm gonna stop here.
