Anyway, to answer your question, yes, there are "GIS people" who craft special offers based on your zip, interests, etc. For example, if you live in the Southeast and open the website, there might be merchandise offers with the Miami Heat theme/starring and if you live in OK, KS, TX, etc and you open the same page, it will feature OKC Thunders theme ads because of the location from which you access internet.
