What would get you out of your aveo?

Now I am not talking dream cars, I am just asking if you were looking to "replace" the Aveo with a similar car what would you get? Another Aveo or something else? the ford Festiva is supposed to be coming, and there are other "newer" models since most of you probably bought the Aveo, like yaris, fit, Xa, etc.


I have to say, i really like my Aveo, but being a VW person i was excited that the Polo is coming to the US. That might make me turn back the the VW's depending on pricing. (It is doubtful that it will be anywhere near the Aveo's price)

for me it would have to be a cobalt SS probably the turbocharged model but either one has a better following in aftermarket parts then the aveo

If and when I get rid of the Aveo, I plan on getting a Suby as a DD. Not sure about project cars though, I've got a few great ideas. Just a hint at one: 350awhp, 6spd, Less then 2000lbs, 35mpg, and full interior with AC, and very streetable (all this after I'm done)

my dream car and very affordable dream car is a 3000 gt VR4.

right now im lookin at gettin a 4th gen prelude.

Inexpensive, warrantied transportation. Serves it's purpose. Gets better Gas milage than everything except the bikes.

Then again, my dream car is a '93 Geo Metro LSi convertible. If I found a nice rust free one, the Aveo would be an extra car.

Nothing would get me out of my Aveo. It is cheap, with a warranty and I will drive it until it dies. That is all I needed. I am content with my Aveo and my track car as of now. I would rather save up for a used Elise or a used SRT-8 JGC

After owning two GLH models and both being in accidents, the wife won't let me bring anymore home.

If so the Polo GTI has to be Really Really fun to drive.
And maybe not to much more $$$.

At $24K and paying $1 extra getting diesel over regular, it could get 200mpg and you would never end up saving money over the Aveo.

I still think diesel is the way to go and I applaud VW and Mercedes for putting more of them in cars for sale in the US market.

it wouldnt be $24k. the charge based on what market demands. it is supposed to be @ the $12k dollar mark in the US. but i doubt we will see the clean diesel version.

There is no way that VW will sell a brand new vehicle in the American market for $12K.

the rabbit and sve jetta start at $15900. their whole reason of bringing over the smaller car is to dip further into the economy market like they used to be, for the first 50 years VW was in existence it was the small economy car company. even though their classes overlap like a polo GTI will probably cost more than lower level jettas. the base polo is supposed(speculated) to be around 13k.. but alot of people on vortex (dealer employees) are saying closer to 12. and it will be made in america, which probably mean mexico. but VW is building a plant in tennessee.

Even if it does come in at $12K, there is no way that it will come at that price with the 70mpg diesel engine. It will be a small 4 cyl with around 120hp and +30mpg making it no different than every other compact car. The reason I think it will be more thatn 12K is because look at all the cars that VW competes against. The Jetta is more money than a Civic, Corolla, Cobalt, Caliber, Sentra. And the Passat is more money than the Accord, Camry, Malibu, Charger, Altima.

IMHO the dollar ain't doing so good agaist the euro making VW's prices higher.
If VW can build Polo's in Mexico or US the car will be in that range ...Give or take a grand.
Gas prices will continue to climb then fall then climb. Summer should be back to $3 plus a gal.
Every one will get use to smaller cars. Smaller cars will get more options.
By 4 to 6 years we'll have Polo GTI's, Cadillac Aveo's, etc, etc...

2010 Mazda 3... not exactly a dream car but the new styling (other than the smily front) is quite sexy. The interior is quite nice too, especially for a $20k car.

My sister had a Mirage, and I really liked the way it cornered. Smooth ride and good handling. It had those funny motorized seatbelts that automatically pulled forward when you opened the door, and got in your face.

Great styling wouldn't touch the exterior except color...good tuner support too.
Fell in love when i first saw them and neither are new so u could find one under 20k in almost new condition.

You ever see the prices of that tuner support on E46 M3. **** is SUPER expensive. They are very nice cars tho.

yea they are but i could live with simple mods and the exterior cud stay stock or maybe a little lower lol its so sexy.

My ex-girlfriends nabor in D.C. has a silver one...it is pretty sick, has the carbon fiber everywhere dude. There's like a 1 year wait for one though I think, don't know what the price is.
