Whats the deal with steel replacement rim prices?

Places are getting over $100 for a wheel! Locally I can find a new one for $75! What makes a
-robot stamped- and -assembled by the zillions- wheel so expensive?

Supply and demand I suppose.. Should be no more than $40. Might as well look for a decent used alloy set.

When I buy steelies (for winter tires), I just watch craigslist for a while until a set pops up for a good price. I'm not really willing to pay over $35 per wheel.
