Whats the resale value for a 2010 Aveo with 4,000 original miles.
My uncle needs to sell since he does not drive anymore.
Any helpful suggestions would be great.
Thanks in advance.

Depends. A seven year old car that only has 4000 miles might look appealing, but its also a great downfall. How long was the car sitting? Do the tires have flat spots? Are the calipers seized from sitting so long? Was the battery maintained? So just based on the fact that is has 4000 miles, dont think your going to sell it for top dollar.
You also left out a lot of other critical info. Is it a hatch or sedan? Auto or manual? Power windows/locks/mirrors or standard? What is the condition of the exterior and interior? You can use KBB.com and the following line\k (http://www.aveoforum.com/forum/f81/h...ed-aveo-20164/) as a guide to see how much you should price it at.
Personally, I just bought another Aveo a few weeks ago...2004 sedan, auto trans, with 36k miles; i paid $2300.
2004 Aveo beater car
2005 Aveo LT. 5-speed beater car (DOA)
Thank you for the insight.
My uncle drove to church, grocery store and Dr visits.
The tires do have very little dry rot starting.
Sedan..auto trans...manual window/locks...cd..ice cold air...super clean inside and out..
Looks and drives like a new car.
I put on 150 miles in 30 days.
Very impressed by the Aveo.
Love the gas mileage!
I would buy it but the insurance in Florida is a buzz kill. $190 a month with a perfect driving record.
No "The General" in FL
Again thank you for the insight.
Hi, Rick -
$190 a month for insurance?? Full coverage or liability only? I personally wouldn't bother with collision/theft coverage on an older car.
FYI, I bought my current car (Pontiac Firefly, a.k.a. Canadian market re-badge of the Chevy Metro) when it was 6 years old and it had 2,468 km (1,533 mi) on the clock. I paid $4500. New battery and brake rotors. That was 12 years ago.
As for your uncle's car, I did a quick search on cars.com.
There are 75 used Aveos listed within 500 miles of Orlando.
Sorting by mileage, lowest to highest, here are a few low-miles gems:
- 2010 Chevrolet Aveo 5 LT
$6,998 7,379 mi
https://www.cars.com/for-sale/search...JZuXjhCAjF3.99- 2007 Chevrolet Aveo LS
$7,860 18,353 mi
Read more at https://www.cars.com/for-sale/search...JZuXjhCAjF3.99
And there are a bunch more in the 40-55k mile range between $4400 and $6800
But keep in mind those are dealer prices, with built-in markup of what, $1000? $2000? More?
I'm going to say that you should easily be able to find a buyer around $4-5k. As you say, with new tires, it's basically a new car.
Another option: where's your nearest CarMAX? I'm pretty sure they'll give you a written offer to purchase after looking over the car.
Please keep us posted!
Rick Shaw - did you sell the Aveo? I'm curious how it turned out for you.
