Who has the most miles/kms on their Aveo/Kalos/Wave/Barina/Swift+

Just Hit 86,000 MILESi watched it turn over at 86,000 on my way home from work. :!:

just hit 60,000 miles on the old aveo the other day....the warranty is officially over, not that I ever used it

'04 at 61,900mi as of today...

Upstream o2 sensor went bad (think it got whacked by some yard debris that I ran over after it fell off the back of a pickup)... $72 for one without a harness from autozone

Waterpump started leaking... replaced under warranty.

Regular maintenance $320 for belts pulleys and tensioners. (replaced at the same time as the water pump)

A couple bent wheels $150

This thing has been through RallyX, mountain driving... to Pa and back 900 times, maine, held up to the access roads to the spectator stages of Rally Wv (these are rougher than the special stages they race on!)...

We paid $9000 after taxes/title... Even if it dies at 100k miles, I'd say we got our money's worth out of it.

i have to say that after 83000 miles i have had no problems with my aveo. back in july of last year i did something stupid and played bumper cars with the saturn in front of me and took a right hand side corner shot but just enough to smoosh the bumper, but not enough to bend the radiator support. when i got it back from the bodyshop the a/c didnt work but thats because they forgot to plug the a/c compressor in, and the right side headlight plug on the back of the bulb melted and the headlight dimmed. need to get that fixed tomorrow. other than those issues caused by me, the car is fantastic!

3,400 miles on my '08 Aveo, and with the manual tranny I've been getting 35MPG... but after I removed the rear seat to decrease the weight, I got 38MPG! Not bad, but being a former owner of a Geo Metro convertible which regularly pushed 50MPG, I'm still not very impressed. Dang, I miss that car...

Yep, GM's precursor to the Aveo was the legendary Suzuki-built Geo Metro, with the amazing 1.0 3 cylinder SOHC that got hybrid gas mileage. It was truly an under-appreciated car in its time, but now they are going for sky-high prices on eBay. I had a 1991 convertible version, which was the most fun on four wheels ever. The engine actually delivered considerable pep, mostly because of the extreme light weight of the car, just under 1,700 pounds. Unfortunately I totaled it a couple months ago, and now I have my Aveo, which really takes off where the metro left off, except for the mileage.

I got an 04 and im at 142000km

My '04 that I just purchased this year has 96300 miles on it. No problems as of now, I do need to replace my 02 sensors, standard stuff though. I don't think the previous owner did any maintenance on the thing, the air filter box has rusted shut screws on it.

nonmouse, had the same problem with my 04 sedan. you'll never get those screws out. the anchors that hold the lid on will end up spinning around in the case. you can get a new one from www.gmpartsdirect.com.

I'm just past 92,000km, I bought it at 55,000km. There hasn't been anything unusual that went wrong.

06 svm aveo with 65k now bought in 07 with 11000 on it. Replaced tires at 52k and timing belt at 57k... the only problem with the car is the blower.I had it replaced 2 times and the blower motor resister replaced once. Still giving me a problem where the air will be coming out hot in winter with heater and cold in summer if ac on doesn't matter it comes out fine for a while then it goes really faint down to nothing and I can crank it up to 4 from 2 and it sounds like it is blowing harder but nothing comes out....???????? I hate this about my car!!! it doesn't do it all the time and the dealer doesn't know what it is...? any ideas?

I average 600 miles per week at 32 mpg. I also use it for pizza delivery two nights a week. I thought I would document my maintenance as of now for all of you fellow Aveo owners. Normal oil changes on schedule every 3000 miles. Air filter replacement every other oil change. Timing belt changed at 80,000. Thermostat housing replaced after stock plastic housing cracked. Replacement housing was metal. Front brake pads replaced at 81,000. Throttle body replaced at 89,000 "dirty injectors" big improvement! Replaced trunk opening cable after it broke. Replaced right rear brake light bulb. Front end alignmnent at 93,000. I have replaced tires twice. Valve cover gasket leaked replaced at 96,000 replaced plug wires also. Other than that she has run like a top! I have never missed a day of work because of car problems. My biggest load was 26 cases of motor oil going 85 miles north to Santa Barbara .CA

There is a local guy with something like 178k on his. He is selling it on craigslist right now.

The Question is "WHO HAS THE MOST MILES ON THERE CARS?" not the least not i got a bunch in the quickest time it's the MOST miles NOW that is all nothing more. and it's MILES not Kilometers how hard is this? look at the dash in there you will find the odomiter. Read what it says. if you live in the U.S.A. then i bet it will be in MILES if you like in CANADA or any of the countrys in the far east then it will be in Kilometers if you have Kilometers then here is a web page to help you find out the milage

My 04 Aveo will hit 132,000miles in the next week or so. The list of problems is bigger than the car

I haven't been to the board in a while but I saw this and had to post. I just hit 178k miles on the way to work in my 2004 aveo.

I'll you I really do. I have other vehicles to drive, but my Aveo is just so easy to jet around and do my stuff that I jump in it before any other car. My wifes 07 Aveo5 only have 50000 miles on it.

I just hit 36000 on mine. So far the only issue I've had with it was the lock cylinder falling inside the door.

2008 aveo5 SV just turned over 30000 miles, dump the clutch every light and beat the tar out of it, the only thing i had to change was the muffler, bottomed the car out from hitting railroad tracks and it pinched the pipe in front of the muffler and it came off the car and ruined it, run semi syn oil and it sounds like day one, i am going to change the timing belt this summer nomatter the mileage, just in case. should have around 40000 then


my family had a 93 geo 3cyl and it got 50+ miles per gallon, thing lasted 310000 miles then we gave it to a church in 03 and got 300 dollars in tax deductions for giving it away, prob was more than the worth of the car.

Now to update my last mileage I'm at 149000 miles. To see someone clock in at over 200K makes me very happy and makes me feel as it I'll hit that mark also!

Time for another preventative timing belt replacement. Car doesn't burn a drop of oil. I must say my initial reservation back in 2007 of buying a Korean built car has been evaporated in the 218K miles I've put on this car since I bought used with 40K miles on it. I have a stack of receipts about 2" thick of all normal wear and tear items I've had to replace, and lots of oil and filter change receipts. Still have original exhaust, clutch, alternator, starter, and radiator, although there is a can of Bars-Leak I've used which successfully sealed my heater core failure last winter. I'm just looking to squeak out another winter if possible. Hopefully I've not jinxed myself by typing this post. Just wanted to share my overall satisfaction with my Aveo in the last 6 years. Needless to say I would buy another Korean car in a heartbeat. :thumbup:

131,000 km - changed timing belt yesterday and water pump. Radio doesn't work right when its cold, other than that no major issues, knock on wood.

I have 39600 kms on my 2009 G3 seeing all thoses all millage cars make me think it can still last for long year!

i just hit 290,000 on mine, been putting on about 4000 km a week going to and from work and bc and Alberta once a week for the last year.

Bonbon just trekked her 50,000th mile to go get a drivers side rear blinker.

My 10 Aveo bought from 2011-04, 22000KM or 13670.16Milles now, pretty good, only changed the Wiper, Battery and regular maintenance.:p

what caused you to have to change the battery at 22000 km? i made it to 180,000 before i did mine

well, Scootaloo is sitting at 60,292 miles. she still runs like a Top, but I fear she needs new Tennis Shoes (Tires) VERY Soon.

My battery used 1year7month, in here most of the aveo change the battery from 1.5-2years times for my 10 model. My aveo not driving usually, maybe not good for the battery life. I mostly drive it for the long journey with long distance 300KM per trip but 1-2weeks time in one month.

I will Have 127K Miles on my 2009 on my way home from work tonight.

180,000 miles. On third battery. Original clutch. 2-timing belts and 1 water pump. 4th set of tires. Replaced one strut at 70K. Other strut needs to be replaced now. The fan wore a hole in the radiator at 100K, put pepper in it to stop leak and repaired with JB Weld, still holding to this day. I actually got 160,000 miles on my first set of brakes, replaced both front wheel bearings when I did breaks. I gave up trying to keep exterior looming nice, factorg gray paint has oxidized and looks like primer, in spite of frequent waxings since new. Holes wore through carpet due to manufacturer leaving scraps under when they made the car. The flexible rubber on the antenae disintegrated. Windshield wiper blade rusted. Replaced windshield.

Car was cheap and still runs. It is uncomfortable to drive and sketchy in wind/rain. I average 30-mpg with mostly highway for car's life.
