Your experienced opinion/ car accident/ damages

Hello erbody,

I hate to say this is my first post because I wish it was under better circumstances. Anyway got an ole 2010 Red Aveo Sedan LT thats been my baby, seen alot together. Been driving for Uber which I feel aveo is an awesome car for! Anyways anyways Red light, line of cars everybodys slammen the brakes me included I manage to come to a stop like a boss, but I get this gut feeling turn the car to go to the shoulder and BAM she hits me right in the ass. Quite literally sending me down the shoulder of the road a good 20 30ft knocks the glasses off my head. Blind and in a rear end collision. Luckily because i was trying to go onto the shoulder of the road no cars in front of me were damaged but they didn't really appreciate the trouble i saved them because they all sped off so fast gotta LOVE HUMANS.



So Im kind of posting to get peoples opinion on how much the repair cost would be. I know it depends alot on the insurance company but luckily she is a platinum member with progressive full coverage and rental car.
And even more ultimately is the cost going to out price the car? 2010 90k Brand new fing windshield like two days ago! sorry

Bumper way gone!
I HAD a trailer hitch and that tore in to her grill purty hard but it has been bent up to the bumper.
Trunk wont close about an inch gap from the seal all the way around.
And oddly enough the right rear passenger door will no longer close. A clear gap. that kinda makes me worried,

Whats an aveo running these days 3000 - 3800

Should i keep the check try to fix myself

I should add Im glad neither the other driver or I were hurt, these things happen, inconvenient is all.

Before deciding to fix yourself, figure out what is damaged.

Most importantly, check the floor for buckles top and bottom. pull out the carpeting and everything.

Odds are the trunk is off because the rear panel is bent.. not that big of a deal, but might need replaced not just pulled.

Do the 1/4 panels have any signs of buckling?

I haven't checked the floor yet and not familiar with 1/4 panels, but here's a pic of the right rear you can see where it looks like it buckled a little by the fuel hatch. The right rear door looks like it hangs over where its supposed to close a good half inch all the way around.

The picture you just showed us is, is the right rear quarter panel; looks like it tweaked the unibody.

yikes, just got off the phone with insurance. Using the progressive app to upload accident and they said they'd mail me a check for the damages. Do you think im getting close to the totaled mark or do you have any guesses on what they may offer? I know its speculative

With the unibody (frame) distorted, my guess is it's close to totalled.

I'd do a search on one of the big car sites for 2010 Aveos to get an idea of what they're going for.

Glad nobody was hurt. (Seriously, no sore neck? That's a common thing in rear-enders.)
