      02 simulator, mini catalytic converter

I don't know if anyone has posted about these before but for you guys with headers or like me a gutted cat, these little babies work. When I gutted my cat I had check engine light come on. Never really bothered me til here lately, finally got tired of lookin at that check engine light. Bigdaddiesgarage.com sells them simply unscrew your o2 sensor, screw in the o2 simulator, screw your o2 sensor in it. No more check engine light.

I tried the homemade fouler combo( 1 drilled , 1 not) as well as the Vibrant O2 extender where u can swap out the diameter of interchangeable parts to change exhaust flow, + a 90* adapter- nothing worked for me. I was very tempted to try the "MINI CAT" but I heard those have worked for some but have a 200-400 mile break in period. How far r u from me, u want the vibrant parts? I am very interested if u can find a mechanical solution to the CEL.

without flow through, i can see why they would clog up after a few hundred miles.. the cat heats up and if the only path is to the o2 sensor. there is no where for it to go... maybe with a U and running past the o2 and back into the exhaust further down would last...

VW guys use tuning to turn off the secondary o2. the emission coding just asks about the o2 readiness for passing in most states (pa has some tough emissions laws too) and with the tune turning off the secondary and only running the primary, it will "pass"

Trifecta allows me to turn off the CEL via tuning, but there seem to be bugs in the software to import the turning off of DTCs, after the third attempt I stopped trying even though their support team said they would help me figure it out. I would like to find a mechanical fix rather than F around with my laptop every weekend. DGOODY if u want the vibrant piece Ill sell it for $10. it cost me almost $30 after shipping. Honestly I would try Big daddys mini cat, in theory it sounds good

to turn them off, you need to uncheck the p0420 box (thats what mine was at least) and then re-flash the tune file. I didnt know about having to reflash the tune file

Not trying to highjack the thread, but I need to check the exact code that the OBD scanner gives me right? I was trying to just turn off the readiness monitors in the top section

To respond to rabbits post, u had a good point so I looked a lil deeper n some guy on a Hyundai forum said it works and there is a hole or some sort of valve to let a small amount of exhaust through. It sounds like this thing may be legit. It just looked like a 6 year old designed the web page

you can do that as well, as long as you do the tune afterwards

not an expert in trifectas tune. but unchecking the box, then retuning, does that prevent your car from throwing that code again? thus fooling the emissions? or does it just clear the code?

I would defer to pickles on this one as I have yet to tune out my CEL, but I believe the tune turns the sensors off at the ECU, thus clearing the DTC, I will be trying again this weekend, but my laptop is giving me trouble
