      0300, 0302, 0303 codes after engine swap

Hello all, brand new member here.

I have an 06 aveo with 189,000 miles on it. The timing belt broke awhile back and rendered the engine worthless. I bought a 12,000 mile motor out of an 07 and completed the swap last weekend. The car runs great, but I am getting the misfire codes 0300, 0302, and 0303. When I was doing the swap I bought new plugs and wires so I know they arent the issue. The coil that I am using is off of the 12k mile engine so I assume that is ok.

What can be causing this issue? If it just sits and idles there isnt the flashing CEL. But as soon as I let out on the clutch and give it some gas to get going the CEL Flashes. HELP

I had this issue soon after we bought our '07. The dealer replaced the ignition block and it resolved the issue (the bit the plugs connect to).

the p0300 p0302 and p0303 are miss fires, could be wires in the wrong order, or the coil pack, gap on the plugs etc. Just recheck what you did. Also check the timing marks. If that doesn't solve it there are a few other things you could try.

The car seems to be running fine, not rough at all. I didnt check the gap on the plugs, just took them out of the box and put them in. What should the gap be set at? I ordered a new coil, it will be here on monday,,,,I dont think that is it, its more for piece of mind.

What other things should I try? I read somewhere about having to do a "relearn" on the ECM after doing an engine swap?

are the codes just in memory or pending?

?? I'm not sure what you mean.

When I initially start the car, the CEL isnt on. It only starts flashing when I rev the engine.

ok, that means they are live, the light isn't on at all though when you start the car? or is it solid? those code should keep the light on?

this honestly sounds like the coil pack.
