Anyone know if the metal housing from the 07's will fit the 04's?

Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far the wall moves after you hit it.

Good question...I remember a thread long long ago about the plastic housing cracking on someones car...I actually think it was a b1rdbrain's if I am not mistaken...
me guess would be yes. GM is very good at keeping things standard. I remember a guy had a 63 impala. With a 350 and some kind of transmission coming out of a 78 buick. He blew the engine in montana. What he did was buy a brank new 2000, 350 engine, swapped manifolds and a few other things, dropped it in and left the same day.
I leased Pontiac Wave from September 2006 to August 2011.
My housing is leaking on my 04, I took a look at the metal one on our 07 last night, and it looks slightly longer, which may mean you would need to cut the hose from the radiator...
I'm just going to order one, worst case scenario, I eat the $20. Will let everyone know.

Let me know ASAP i was the one that cracked it first posted photo's too i would much rather the metal one rather then the plastic that i had to replace it with

well, gm-car-parts sent me the plastic one, even though I ordered one for an '07... though this should mean that they're interchangeable.

well... replaced the thermostat... still leaking from somewhere right there...
hoses seem fine... I'm all out of ideas, will probably just take it in =/

you may have a crack in the block right where the thermastat attaches.

Took it in this afternoon. A hose was leaking (the one that's held in place by the timing belt cover), which I knew. They said the water pump was leaking, which will be replaced under warranty. They also tried to say the thermostat housing was leaking... which I just replaced not 5 days ago.
In total the trip should cost me around $450 =/
Timing belt, tensioner, cover gasket
Serpentine belt and tensioner
Misc hoses/clamps.
