      09 motor swap issues

I have a 2009 aveo5 had a timing belt break, so I swapped motors since the head was trashed. After the swap the car will only run for about 30 seconds and stalls out. I swapped sensors and am using the harness from the original motor, after many nights of trying everything i could think of, I took the vehicle to GM for a diagnostic and they said it was the crank sensor, I replaced the sensor and there is no difference. Does anybody have any ideas?

      Thanks!

Have you established that fuel is ok? If not, I would remove the air filter box cover; and just as it starts to die, lift the filter and spray in a bit of carb cleaner.

Thank you for the reply, I have checked everything fuel related and it seems ok, if I unplug the crank sensor just as the car starts to die, then plug it back in, the car will run fine. The tach will not read after doing this, so I assume that it is not reading the sensor. Once I shut the car off and start again it will not run unless I follow the same procedure.

+1, when you swap motors (or ECU) the manual calls for a crank relearn (CKP) - I have had to pay a dealer with a tech2 to do one on my LT when we changed the ECU.
