p1781, p0700, p0300 were the ones I could read w/ my reader. Going to take it to the mechanic in the morning to see if he can tell more codes.

With 94K + the over heat I'm guessing Cat plus the O2 sensor I didn't replace. (I replaced the pre-cat one).

I did unplug the after-cat one this weekend and for a little bit it seamed like it was idling 'better' for a few minutes.

Half tempted to just swap out the cat anyway and see if that does the trick without having to pay my mechanic to do it.

before you go ahead with swopping the cat there is a new product out there that claims it cleans the cat and all the internals of the car whilst it is at it looking into the reserch avalible it does actually look like it works as it's a whole different process to just the fuel additives may be worth a look into it's called terraclean google it it's like 80 gbp so would be like 110 120 dollars maybe if it was to work could not garentee it would be allot cheeper than a 3-400 dollar car + would up performance mpg e.c.t again if it works.

You said the plugs were "really bad" with just 30K on them. How did they compare to book pictures of the various engine problem plugs? You have a combination of potential long-term damage happening from the original TB break, along with the more recent overheat. I know you said the compression test was "good", but personally I wouldn't throw another dime into it before seeing the results from a leak down test. And if that comes back good, I would do a vacuum test next. Good luck with it!

Finally getting around to updating this!

      EGR Valve replaced...no result
      then...

Took it to the mechanic, he tried a few things. Did a full compression test again (everything was great!!!). But still rough idle. After a few more diagnostics it turned out to be one bad fuel injector.

Easy fix! Running like a champ again.

Thank you for following up with the outcome and result! (many do not)
This may help other people having the same problem.

I had a rough idle (one cylinder missing) when first started that clears up after being run for awhile. Three plugs were clean, if not running lean, one had dark deposits. Replaced injector and still runs bad. I may have to look more carefully for a head issue.

Otherwise runs like a champ very little, if any, coolant loss.
