      2007 Aveo Slipping Clutch

      Good afternoon,
The clutch on my 2007 Aveo is slipping. This is the second clutch I've had in the car, the original lasted 90,000 miles and this one lasted about 50,000. Is there anything that could be checked that maybe minor (ie: low fluid, etc) before having it replaced. My mechanic wants between $1,000 and $1,500 to replace everything. I bought this car new in 2007 and have enjoyed it very much; however, because of the mileage, age and cost I don't know if it is worth it. (145,000 miles). It runs well and the body is in great shape (even for being in Wisconsin, we took really good care of it). I want to keep the car, and looking to get this done or fixed reasonably. Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated. I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

You have to change thrust bearing and the second bearing( i dont remember the name of it). Make sure you get the clutch set (clutch pressure place, clutch, thrust bearing). Make sure you change transmission fluid too. The amount of fluid is in the service manual. If you have all tools at your home, you could have it fixed by yourself. Around 200-300 dollars for parts. Someone had posted clutch replacement guide in the forum. good luck with clutch replacement
