2008 CAI install question

Been searching lots and notice alot of people do intakes.. but people never ask enough questions.. i want to buy a CAI off ebay for 77$ from chromeintakes, as this person in the pics did, and i notice on the install he left the filter open.. he never said if he replaced the splash guard or not.. so i am skeptical on doing it and leaving my filter open for water and depris (i live in canada so it snows alot too so slush is a HUGE worry) does anybody have proper install pics and an explanation for a first time owner/huge newbie!!! thanks.. and also any suggestions or ideas?
btw, it is a 2008 aveo5 ls

you had to take out the rad and remove the bumper to install it?

You could have just removed the tire and some of the splash guard. That's what I did at least.

no, those pictures are from when i was doing some other projects to the car. The cai went in with just the splash shield removed.

and you can re-install the splash guard after? i have stock fog lights installed, do they need to come out for air flow?

you can reinstall the splash guard. you can see mine is still on there in the last picture. And no you do not need to remove the fog, i took that picture while i was adding factory fogs to my car.

could i see pic of what it look like now? top front bottom side?

what do you mean? the top side looks like the first picture, the rest of the angles look "stock" youll see a bumper, a splash guard, etc. You cannot see the cai otherwise.
