Looking for a good fitting Ram air or Cold air intake for the 2009’s. Has anyone mounted one or know of one out there? For some reason every thing is double the cost here in Canada and I’m just a working stiff. So I’m trying to keep my mods in a budget.

No I ment what type of intake did you get Rabbit and how much was it. :P
its all in that thread. $34 shipped. for a early 90s honda accord intake. just need to make 2 cuts to the pipe, and an extra coupler (or cut the long one in half for the maf). but everything else is good.
dont they got the short ram ones for the 2009 on ebay? I guess your have to eithier buy one off there or make one, i dont think aem has made intakes for the 2009 yet though
there are some people listing them for 04-09, but our throttle body practically points straight up.
I’ve been into my local speed shop and they said that in the fall when the new product line comes out, there maybe more for the Areos. I don’t mind building things by hand, but I like a chouse.
I wonder if you just turn the 04-08 intake down if it would work?
i thought about making a new topic but this is axactly what i would have said so ill put it under this one, today i bought a 09 aveo new form the dealer. I know nothing about cars. but going fro ma big ass triton v8 to this lil egg i can barely fit into has led me to look for after market parts to make it meaner. i found this....

looks legit, or at least more legit than the those chips. and it comes with the kn filter i was panning on getting anyway.
That's for an 04-08 Aveo. Our throttle body face straight up.

Are you close enough to the border to drive to the States to pick up your parts?
I’m only a 2-hour drive from Buffalo, so I could cross over and install and then just drive back home (this way I wouldn’t have to pay duty). Just don’t know the city or good places to go.
I have approached a manufacture of intake systems and they are interested in working with me to develop a ram and cold air intake system that will bolt onto the new 2009 engine.
I will keep posting up info as things come together.
Well during the winter I installed a short ram air intake. It was a quick and easy install and only need a little mod to fight my car. I picked up a Cold air kit for a Honda off Ebay for $36.00 to the door. Since it was a cold air kit I had lots of tubing to work with to build my short air ram.
I love it and it works great, I recommend this mod to anyone look to get a little more out of there engine.

First thing I did was remove the air-box so I had room to work and get the right set-up.Quote:

Did you remove the box under the fender too during those 1.5 hours? 8) Or did you leave that in?
i did everything he did including the box in the fender well and it didnt take me 1.5 hours. So i imagine he did?
Yours goes all the way down to where that box is since it's a CAI, so for you there isn't a way to avoid taking it out, rabbit. His is an SRI. I was just wondering if he went through the trouble of taking it out...
Since I installed the air intake in the winter (snow) I didn’t have the chance to pull the resonator box out. I will be doing that this summer, as soon as I have the time. I plan to run a air flow tube up from the wheel well to the breather with the extra tubing I still have.
I guess that will turn it into a semi-CAI... with the majority of the air still being taken from the engine bay... But you'll add a little bit of cold air from the fender area. 8)
Thats a very nice setup......sorry but does that do anything as far as performance that is noticeable?
the sri does improve flow, its better than stock, but if you ever stop and sit idle, heat soak is a bigger problem and can actually rob power. The solution to that is to add the second pipe and have a cai. All the gains, a LOT less heat soak. Just be sure to pair it up with a less restrictive muffler to give the engine the most flow in and out.
