      2010 Chevy aveo engine

      My wife blew her engine up and now I need to replace it why can I not use any older engines like a 08-09 it said I could only use 10-11 model what is different? Any help is appreciated

      2004 to 2008 was a completely different 1.6L engine. 2009 was the 'same' Ecotec engine. As for why it's not considered interchageable, I'm not sure. You might be able to make it work by swapping whatever sensor(s) is different (for example, not sure), but maybe someone else knows.

      Yea I'm not sure either it's aggravating because 10-11 engines are harder to find and more expensive

      I just checked, a Crate Engine From GM is OVER HALF (68% to be exact) of Scoots' Blue Book Value! (the Engine is $3,542; and Scoots' Private Party Blue Book Value in Good Condition is $5,084)

      What did she do to "blow it up"? Was it run out of oil, or the oil never changed? Or overheated blowing the head gasket? Something else?
