295 000 KM timing belt replacement

Good day everyone. Just got a 2006 4 door for 1000$ 3 days ago.

I wanted something that was easier on fuel then my HEMI

So far I replaced the Valve cover gasket ( Plug holes were full to the tip with oil )
Replaced the plugs ( the ones in there had no more tip )
Replaced the trans filter and gasket ( trans oil was black )
Replaced air filter ( well there wasn't any )

So I purchased this kit from ebay Engine Timing Belt Tensioner Water Pump KIT Chevrolet Aveo 1 6L Dohc "E TEC II" | eBay
along with the 41mm wrench and the cam lock tool...

Saw a great DIY on this site and cant wait to get it done...

Is there anything else I need to do on this car that I might have missed ?

Hopefully my kit get here quick. The timing belt is dry rotted from what I could see when i pulled the valve cover.. lol...

Sounds like the previous owner did nothing, so the plastic thermostat housing is probably still there also. If so, when the coolant is changed with the timing belt is a good time to replace the plastic housing with a metal one. The plug wells being filled with oil means the wires are probably just about shot, so you'll need a new set of those as well. Good luck trying to play catch-up!

If its drive by wire and not a throttle cable make sure to clean the throttlebody.

.....and inspect the air intake hose as they tend to crack and split over time.

Have you done your timing belt as yet? I'm planning to change the one on my gf's 2004 Aveo in the next couple weekends (waiting for the stuff to ship now). This car has 384,000 km on it right now :/
