      About spark plug...

Do you know the calibration from spark plug to the ECOtec 1.6L?...

Or how can i obtayn the FSM?...

I smell gas in the exhaust, i thing the mix is very rich, and supost the calibration, mabe is wrong, when i replace the spark plugs for the iridium spark plug, i meassure the stock plugs end calibrate, but still smell...

The first time I install it with the precalibrated -011 I think is .44, an then i adjust like stock i think is .43....

Yes it is!!!, thanks, y calibrate with 0.043 inch, but smell a little a gas...

the spark plug came with .044 an smell more...

      thanks a lot!...

I'm not sure if the thinness of the tip affect the size of the calibration, since the original tip is thicker and thinner iridium ..

      the pics isn´t good...

      the replace sparkplug...

s a big mistake, spark plugs are not eternal, wear out ...

of copper, are changed every 6000 miles ....
the Iridium every 25.000 miles if you use nitro or turbo, you should change it to half the use by abrasion ....
and platinum are changed every 60,000 miles or so ....

any material or plug is eternal, especially if subjected to combustion in an engine pressure are extreme conditions, see how mine are the stock at that time had only 6,000 miles, that wear causes a spark of poor quality ...

Change them and take a picture for you to realize or current ...

I gotta say AUSCE, your numbers are way off. Copper plugs are usually recommended to be changed every ~15k miles, and usually can go much longer if you regap them. Platinum plugs are rated for 60k miles and Iridium plugs are good for 90k miles I believe.

You can go with whatever type you want. The platinum/iridiums will just last longer.

As for gap, just use the stock gap. You haven't done any work on the engine or ignition system to be messing around with it. The stock gap is optimal for the stock engine.

In fact my numbers may be wrong, but for the cost of the part I do not see the need to leave it so long, that piece of the picture was not in very good condition and were only 30.000 km ...

In my case to do a tune up, is what I do change the copper every 10,000 km
the iridium each 20.000, 40.000 know that last, but it also revised the state of combustion, according to the last iridium 100.000 km, but these data as long as the car is stock, I think to move a parameter continually need to be revised ...

cost-benefit in order to see the problem not to do before, such as a synthetic oil last say 20,000 km, but the oil filter not as bad a thing as the other, then a filter every 10,000 stock ...

In my case I change it every 10,000 km although it is synthetic, but does not benefit me much, I think it helps me more to leave it up to 20.000 km, for which the filter is changed every 5,000 km, I think the benefit is that the injury, and cost is not representative ...

Our gasoline is not the same quality and our streets are worse than you, so I have more care ...

will not give you a lot of power but should improve combustion ...
