man some trucks are bangin fast. one of my friends has a lowered toyota t100 tundra and he pulled away from me with it. i found out he has a 2.8 four banger pushing it though and thats a perdy big motor for his lil truck.
Doesnt seem worth the money for a gain of just 23 hp stock or maybe i'm wrong
We know for a fact it's the ECU and the emissions that are different. If you look hard enough on DT there is a thread where Erfinder swapped the Reno and Forenza ECUs with funky minimal gains like that.
It's not Canada, it's California for some reason our cars have to pass there tests too... so I've been told.
I think mine has enough pep.

so a remap of the ecu and intake/exhaust should just about make up for an engine swap. not to mention boosting and forging
What has the 1.6l engine dyno'd with basic mods like intake/exhaust/grounds/ect...???
I know the U20SED 2.0l has no problem making 25% more hp at the wheels with only $600. Dropping in a 2.0 may not be worth it if you leave it stock, but these engines are restricted horribly from the factor and very easy to get some of the power out of them. Not to mention parts will be more available; I got UD pulleys, in the process of a full exhaust, intake mani, have CAIs, and working on some other goodies
the only one ive seen dynoed made 87whp
Stock? What about with a cat-back, intake, and grounds?Originally Posted by AVE0SAM
The U20SED has been doing 100whp stock. One guy claims (and has dyno sheets) of three different U20SEDs pulling 120-122whp stock but I still think he's full of **** cause that what a couple U20SEDs have done with some sorta intake, cat-back, and UD pulley.
