      Air Conditioning Specs

I have made some modifications to my A/C to make it work in the 110+ degree weather we have been having and so far, I have been rather impressed. Its warmest temperature is now cooler than the coolest temp before the following three mods.

Insulate around the lower part of the a/c core to force air through it instead of around it
wrap the a/c line going behind the front bumper and in front of the core
a small undertray which keeps radiant heat from the road from heating up the a/c core.

I noticed when accelerating, the A/C starts to warm up. With a temperature probe it will go from about 10C to 12C. That's nearly 4 degrees in American. Some cars turn off the a/c at a specific RPM or throttle position, I suspect the Aveo does too. I want to know where that point is. Anyone know?

I have some pictures and stuff but haven't written up the post yet. I still have a few more things I want to do such as heat wrap my CAT and try some subtle vents to allow the under hood heat to escape.

That's interesting. Do you know if it's an electromagnetic clutch on the compressor that's disengaging?

If it is, you could probably monitor it by tapping into / monitoring the control wire.

A ScanGauge or OBD-II diagnostic laptop app would give you the TPS / load / RPM values as well.
