Just 2009+?
Why not both?
^ what the man with the plan said
you would garner a lot of interest with the previous gen, including myself
+1 on the 1st Gen. I'm in the process of finding out if one of the semi local shops will do it here.
well i would be all for it, if its an easy transaction. I dont want to have to take my car to your shop, i dont want it to cost more than the gains are worth, or really even need to have the car off the road for too long.
So let talk about what you want to develop, a reflash? installing a chip? what testing are you going to do? take an aveo retune and dyno it and tweak? etc.
Let hear your full idea, these guys are more or less swayed by details, unlike most other forums that only want to hear peak hp..
Thanks for the feedback.
This would be a reflash solution through the diagnostic port.
For starters, we are mainly looking at 2009+ for now because they have a MAF sensor which makes them more flexible for tuning for boost, etc. but there's no reason we couldn't look at the previous generation also.
now you've gone from chipping to adding boost.
If you have can make a turbo kit running on oem harness and a reflashed ecu that is realistically priced and reliable.. i'll take one. I approached two companies about just the chip and never heard back. Not even an automated response.
If you just want to start with a chip, i'm interested as well, unless the two will be offered close together.
Who are you affiliated with?
is this you?

Yes, I'm the owner of Trifecta Performance Inc.
We're looking at adding general tuning support for these vehicles. If we support boost it would be through native programming, no standalone FMUs, etc.
im in for one for the 1st gen
Thats respectable that you guys are willing to help the tuning aftermarket for aveos.
I agree with hunter and serega 1st gen would also help alot
Thanks for the encouragement. We've made a name for ourselves by offering tuning for the cars that other companies considered to be "too small of a market". Our big break came when we were first to offer tuning for the 2.2L Cobalt, widely considered to be not interesting to the larger companies. We're still the only company to offer tuning for the 2005-2006 Cobalt 2.2.
I've been thinking about Aveo for over a year now, and I've thrown a couple posts out here and there on various forums, but this is the first one that I've seen some level of interest from (which means I was looking at the wrong forums).
I do expect to have support for the 2009+ cars first, and if anybody reads this that wants to work with us to beta test it, please shoot me an email, but after that we will look at the earlier models, too.
i saw you have a tuner in pittsburgh, if you send him the file i will beta test it.
whats your email?
It says that if I'm within driving distance from Seattle, WA, to e-mail you (on your site), figured I'd answer here. I don't have a second gen, but I have a first gen Aveo you can have a shot at tuning... I don't mind a free tune. 8) I'm only about 20 minutes away from Seattle up in Edmonds/Lynnwood area.
I tried to email you a few times, keeps coming back. If you are willing to work on beta testing through one of your dealers, let me know. I don't know you dealer, but you have one on your website, if he has a dyno preference, we can run the car, flash it and run it again.
Do Sedans too please, cuz i understand the circuit boards have different wirings/circuit board blue prints from the hatchs (states it in the car manual lol) ... and is the aveo's circuit board that contains the ECU different from the pontiac waves? cuz if so then #-o **** LOL do pontiac wave makes too please, I would participate if the price is reasonable.
Well, I got a very speedy reply. When I'm out in Seattle, I'm getting a tune. F-Yeah!
Naturally, as soon as the word boost popped up in conversation all the guys with A/T Aveo's piped up like school children. 8) I'd be interested if it was possible here, but I highly doubt you have anything in Alaska. Therefore, I will do what I've been doing for the past year...wait for Rabbit to do it and follow his lead. 8)
i'd get his tune depending on price, at least until my warranty is up. I'm not doing much engine mods because once I "tire" of driving the car im going to swap a stage 2 LNF into it, (or wait to see what the 1.4t is tunable to).. but @ 300 reliable hp will keep the car interesting.
I'm not sure how long it will take me to tire of it, i've really only driven 300 miles or so since june? gave it its first tank of gas since may in mid august.. only real driving i have done is "parts testing" its been up on jacks for R&D most of the summer. but tomorrow i start driving the kids to school..
what did you expect from me :PQuote:

I got a reply that they're not doing older models for now... sucks though, I was ready to get the tune for my HHR from them, but I want to do the Aveo first... oh well, I'll have to spend my $300 elsewhere.
And according to their site, most of their tunes are around that price (some are higher, looks like performance models)
i got my money on the table lol
i think our gen is gonna get screwed big time
im going to give up lol
right behind u^ lets start tryin 2 get mpg instead of hp lol
lol i could care less about mpg's, i just wish our gen was not kicked to the curve lol
with the 3rd gen aveo we are done for
Yeah, like my 09 is gonna be any better? It was only the same for 09 & 10! (right?)
and 11 most likely, at least you will get an ecu tune!!! :P
They might have tuning hunter but 2nd gens dont have headers either
just wait my friend...
lol yea thats if somebody decides to make headers for that engine.
i say we're got lucky that xiaogary made ours
I believe PrecisionBoost compared them wand said that the 1G headers will work on a 2G with the use of an EGR plate...? It's been a while, I don't have the time to search for it on my iPhone right now, but I think it's on our forum.

vince, nice work!
this looks promising lets get a member with an 09+ aveo there for a free tune for our cars!!
what did they do? thats a lot of power
are they going to do 1st gens as well? Save me a trip down south
thats a remap.. as far as i can tell, from what i read on their site.
i dont think he was doing 1st gen, but if the interest is there? like i stated, if he can communicate with the cruze and 2nd gen, then he should be able to work with the first.. they are all daewoo.
That's a decent torque curve and peak for a 1.4l...
That being said, we'll never get anything like that out of the Aveo. You'll probably be looking at 10hp for an NA tune, going by what I've seen for other NA 4 bangers.
yeah i know that, but it seems that the "hype" was right that the 1.4t in the cruze is really just an detuned 1.4l version of the vxr engine.. ?
his prices for tuning are outstanding as far as i am concerned. $300, is better than APR or gaic (niether tune our cars, but thats what i am used too). i would have taken my car to him by now, but its on the wrong coast. i would love another 10hp..
that is a steal for a tune through obd2, maybe we should make a list for interest in each gen?
