I think i have the worst luck of anyone in the world.
I just got the oil leak checked, its coming from the engine, and probly the worst place too, both crankcase seals are leaking oil on each side of the motor, thats just great. One hell of a job changing those things. They put in a special oil treatment for dried up/shrunken gaskets and seals. Fingers crossed.
Wow, I guess if you didn't have bad luck you wouldn't have any eh? Sorry to hear that, hope it works out.
im building a go kart and im looking for an engine. imagine a go kart with an aveo 1.6 and a 5 speed trans
That's pretty much what an Aveo is :lol:Quote:

The engine has stopped pinging when i give it gas, the power band is much more linear (1.6's ecu has alot of low end power that drops off quickly over 4k) and it runs alot better overall. CEL stopped flashing, misfires are gone, but its still on, might need a reflash/reprogram. Gonna check the codes with a scanner 1st. Fuel gauge doesnt work properly, doesnt read below 1/2 tank (gauge stays at 1/2 even tho your lower on gas) Same thing for coolant temperature, gauge doesnt go under 1/4 but it does rise to normal operating temperature. The reflash might fix it. Ill try to reset the ecu with the scanner today to see whats gonna happen.
Those are minor problems im not too concerned about. The oil leak from each side of the motor is another story tho, from a quick check it seems like both crank seals are shot. The engine seal they put in isnt working so the seals must be cracked.
Your not having any luck with this are you. Is the engine supplier flipping the bill for this?Quote:

I just got home from the 1/8th drag stip (god there was alot of ppl) I only raced once, against my friend's 2.0 high output neon (150 ish hp). With the 1.6 he'd kick my can pretty hard (tried to beat him a few times) but with the 2.0 haha lets just say i crossed the line before he did
At the end of the laneway he looks at me and says.. Daaaamn! lol
Fun night overall, some pretty nice ass cars over there. Only problem i need to fix is the oil leak and its g2g.
so let me get this straight. after all of these posts, is the jist of this story that the 2.0 cobalt SS motor is a "bolt-up" to the aveo? if not, what had to be transfered? sorry if i missed the point, provided it was already made, but alot of these posts are useless and its hard to remember the key points.
