This post was a chevy optra (canada)/ suzuki forenza (US) motor swap into an Aveo, not the 2.0 cobalt SS motor. The optra's 2.0 is an easier fit than the cobalt SS motor.Quote:

Great for a buget project. Or swap in 2.0 motors and resell them.
props on the swap...another possibility of something to do when the old lump finally gives out
Alright i made a quick CRAPPY QUALITY!! short video of the car accelerating from 1st to 3rd gear. And i do mean CRAPPY! it was shot using my cellphone, driving 1 handed.
Im also going up on a good incline (up a bridge), the cluster shot if you cant read the number is 80 mph
You cant see much cause it was at night, you can pretty much make out how it sounds tho, yet again crappy cellphone audio quality.
Enjoy!

Awesome, thanks for the live update! Does look fast!
60mph seemed to come by in about 10 seconds. Overall it sounded much livelier than a stock engine.
Get the oil leaks fixed?
Oil leak still not fixed gonna get that cheked this week, that was a pretty slow start, if i really punch it 60 mph is around 8 seconds, compared to 11 seconds with 1.6 lol
wow!! sounds much beefier!
what what...sounds sick!!!
