it sounds like you have a hole in the head gasket going from the cylinder past a water passage and ending up in the oil.

the cylinder probably filled with some water making it a dead cylinder (knocking), and then you pushed it out into the oil passage.

all should be fixable with a new gasket unless you wash your bearings in the meantime. but i believe you would just get another used long block under warranty. ?

Does all cars in US or those cold countries face bad corrosion problem? The throttle body and engine looks badly corroded or rusted. Even the nut on top of the front suspension/shock absorber looks like its going to break anytime.

Salt/Calcium they put on roads during winter will do that to your car, cars dont last as long here then in the states where weather is always good and they dont need to put calcium on roads.

The engine runs at normal temperature yes.

I highly recommend the lightweight UD pulley we sell. It's by far the best bang for the buck mod you can do for the 2.0. Easily a strong 3-4whp gain throughout the entire powerband. Email me at Danny@KinkyMotorsports.com and I can send you a dyno.

Also we sell the BMS CAI which would be a bit of an upgrade from your intake. They're very well designed and dyno tested as well.

Re: Aveo 2.0L - Good/Bad News and PICS are up!!!

Surprises surprises, i just got back from the shop, was real busy this week had no time to go over and get the engine checked out.

I thought the head gasket was blown, and it seemed like coolant was mixing up with oil, i was wrong, no coolant is mixing up with oil, the number 2 cylinder (if you count from left to right 1 thru 4) has absolutely no compression, most likely due to damaged/blown rings, so the oil is passing by the rings ending up in the head which is probly why its bursting out the breather filter.

They are gonna call monday morning to get a new block and they are gonna swap it again (ez job now that all the work is done, its just a quick block swap)

Everything is covered under warranty from where i bought the motor at, parts and labour included, so its not gonna cost me a penny (which is good news at least)
