Success, I have a working tach signal but it only reads 1/2 the current rev.
Meaning the car idles at 800-850 rpm, the reading in megatune is 400-425 rpm.
But the unit triggers and can fire the injectors, i havent connected anything yet, but the leds on the unit tell me its trying to fire the injectors!
Now to get the tach to give me the correct rev...

If you look at the coils in the diagram (EI System), you can see that there are two of them... you need both signals to get the correct tachometer input. The important thing here is that they stay isolated. All you need to do is use two diodes to connect the two wires to the tach input wire of the megasquirt.Originally Posted by Nemasys

Ok but thats like chinese to me lol, i don't know how i would connect 2 diodes to 1 wire. What do i need to buy to make this work?

Diodes are a one way path for electricity. The source would have them in packs of 5 or 10. you need to connect one to each wire, so that the signal gets to the tach wire, but not to the other signal wire. You can look up diodes online though very simple to understand. LEDs for example are diodes, they only light up one way.
