There was one awhile back for the 2.0L but i think they discontinued it.
the sema car with the cobalt ss drivetrain, the people who built it offer a package, from what i understand its mounts and such, but i dont remember who built it, or any of that.
the shop that built the first and only LSJ swap was rage performance out in upland, ca. ive tried seeing how much it would be for their mounts but they keep giving me the run around for info on the swap...
let me add to that from my personal collection...

i would do it too..
i figure even though "its only an aveo" i paid 10,500 for it, and have seen 6000 cobalt ss drivetrains for sale... depending on the price of this kit, and swap parts that are always needed, i would still be about the price of a fully loaded aveo.. but i would have the stuff that matters.. lightweight (because of no options) and lots of hp..
although i am not going to do it until my warranty runs out, or my engine is tired.. so in another few years.
agreed
it was done by jason whitfield. there are a few threads around here that talk about it. theres a vid on youtube about it too.
That's wierd that they did a side-exit exhaust through the rear door...definently different. Sweet car.
it's called the "Green Monster".. and the mounting brackets/plates must be fab'd, everything else is cake, ecm/wiring, fuel, tranny links, AC, ABS and everyhing else is the same as if the motor was in cobalt or g5/6.. its going to take me 7/8 months to get everything together, i got the motor n everything from 09 cobalt ss (flipped 4x down the hill - in the snow), now im just missing a few key parts, Hi Output oil /fuel pump n injectors, custom header n downpipe, GT30 Turbo and bigger IC kit.. other than that... i'm ready to rock and roll..
one more thing the driver had, a motor bay full of goodies, NOS, AEM wideband, boost tuner/retarder, no wheel hop kit, exhast wraps, IC hard pipes, meth kit, all of this for $5500, the body on the car is gone, no body will even touch the car to repair it.. insurance co. i guess considered the car as "totaled".. b/c the title has salvage printed on there..
I guess you really benefited from someone with too many mods and not enough experience.
Here's some more pics of the Whitfield Racing supercharged Aveo:

too bad whitfield is a jew and wont sell the stuff we need for this :x
Haha, he just wants to be the only one I guess.
So I spent some time reading the site - not sure where people get the info but we never said we would not sale the parts needed to do the swap. We also never said we would not tell you what parts to but to do it your self. We did some none Cobalt parts like the mefi etc so when were asked factory harness ?s we may not have the answer.
I have alot of emails where people asked for the parts to do it for there own car with replies telling them how and how much. If anyone has questions about the Aveo we built we have always made time to answer
lol i called you a jew before i found out that you did sell the parts :P
i think i posted what you sent me on aveonetwork in the emails when i was talking to you last time, though really the only person looking to do the swap in the near future is rabbit
yes.. yes i am..
i did not realize until now this is the 2.2 (lap or l61) with a supercharger conversion? i know your running you own management etc, but how does that swap work? head on block or just manifolds etc? what the power comparatively to just the 2.0 lsj?
although i have come across supercharged ss for relatively cheap, i am going to go with an LNF engine when i do mine. Since i own a 2009 aveo, i want it in the right generation..

We run the mefi and wired the car our way to get rid of any gm harness issues, the cars makes great power and fels nice on the street.Quote:

we ran the complete ss cobalt supercharged swap with transmission / motor / head / intake manifold and customer header. as also used the factory shifter and aftercooler / radiator too
Very nice Jason, welcome to the site btw. Thanks for daring to take on a project like the Aveo when no one else would man, these cars get no respect or aftermarket support, so it's nice to see someone build something amazing from a car 90% of the population hates. "The Green Monster" is quite a sweet little car you've built. I have to ask, I love the side exit exhaust in the rear doors but what was the purpose? Clearance? Good luck with your sale bro and keep up the good work. Let us know what kind of parts your company offers for the Aveo when you get a chance, I'm sure you'd spark some interest.
I have a question. Is that a digital read-out cluster you installed for the mph/rpm gauges?
It is, it's the same thing professional rally and racecar drivers use. The lights on the top light up green, yellow and red with your rpms. Ken Block has the same thing in his Ford Fiesta rally car, but I forget what it's called:Quote:

Dash - These are the AIM dash set ups that are seen on bikes and shifter karts which have all sorts of extras for the driver. Lap Time / RPM / MPH / Shift Light etc
Right on man, thanks for the info and speedy reply.
lol that digital set up cost almost as much as the car :P
There is no price when modding a car, either do it right or be a ricer with wal-mart stickers, pedal covers and seat covers.Quote:

But I like it and i will make it into something truely unique, soon im going to get another car and the Aveo will become a toy more then anything else. Until that time comes, its my daily driver!
Plus its one hell of a head turner hahaha!
lol i didnt mean it that way, i was just implying that the digital display is a lot of money for the unit itself
Yeah i know, i just wanted to make you more jealous :P
Ohh and maybe laugh at my empty wallet hah!
ahaha you think that's bad, I don't even carry my wallet anymore... lolQuote:

As for the dash its only like 500/1000 buck depending on the style you want, we went with 2 for the "what the heck" factor hahah
i thought they were a lot more
you laugh at me regardless nemasys :P
Jason, so what would be the price for a "drop off service engine swap" if I was to drive down my car to your shop and have you do the same exact thing to it?
I'm looking for a quote in case I decide to keep the car. I'm not looking for any external mods unless they're necessary to accommodate the new engine/tranny (like suspension components if they're required).
