      Aveo Diesel - Error Code 89

      Hello,

      Is there anyone that knows the solution for the "Service Error 89" problem with the Aveo Diesel?

      My car is an Aveo LTZ 5 door 95 hp diesel with six gears new from 01/2012 with now ± 35.000 km. One day at around 33.000 km i got the service code 89 error and afterwards the OBD2 lamp went on. My car is already for 3 weeks at the Chevy dealer. I phoned Chevrolet Belgium last week; they told me it is an emission problem caused by a sensitive sensor to keep the engine within the emission specs... Software problem?

      News from Chevrolet Belgium today.
      There is mechanical nothing wrong with the car, it's a software problem.
      Chevrolet Europe will release a software update next month.

      I have an Aveo LS 1.2, the same error above 6-7 month. Are you sure that is software problem?

      Yes, that is what they told me. I hope to hear from my dealer within the next few days.
      It is strange that you have the same problem with an petrol engine Aveo; i thought the problem was only for the diesel engines.

      Hello, you must ask your dealer to take contact with Chevrolet Moldova. The solution has to come from Chevrolet Europe.
      Don't worry all the new Aveo's are for the moment under warranty; so the solution has to come form the constructor.

      I have my Avea since 2012/1 and also have a problem with code 89. I've been at my garage for the second time. They upgraded the software the first time and the second time they've repleaced some air thing. Don't ask me what it was exectly, but they thought it was over. Yesterday the error was back, so monday I'll call them again, but when I read al the stories, I don't think they can solve it.

      I have had my Aveo since November 2012, and after about 6 months this problem started. It's at the dealer right now, for the 7th or 8th time, because this problem keeps occurring. They even changed the whole engine last time, resulting that it worked fine for two weeks, but then it showed up again. I think it is starting to get expensive for Chevrolet, to keep repairing it.

      I just' ve got this failure code 89. Wonder if a dealer around Gothenburg can help me fix that problem. Seems like it is a common and well known failure. My car is around 40.000 km and taken in July 2012.
